I think I got about 35 the first time I tried it (long ago), I missed some obvious ones, so the second time I got almost everything and by the third time I got it all; I´m not america, either.

@Sam: Not as far as I know. But the place where the state name pops up when you're being asked for a capital gives a big hint to the location of the city within the state.

Wouldn't this quiz work better if you could enter the capitals in any order like on other quizzes? Just wondering.

@DirtyKash: The country capitals quizzes are done in the same way. I think it's better this way, since you have to know which capital goes with which state/country.

This is just a good, good quiz. The randomization keeps you on your toes, the map teaches you a little geography instead of just rattling off names. Real solid.

You should be able to click on the state in order to enter a capital. I got tired of cycling through trying to find a state that I knew the capital to.

Once I got past the spelling..like Montpelier...I did OK. I too would like a test that asks state and capital. and maybe without a map, I don't think I would do as well.

When did Georgia move Atlanta to Savannah? :P I think the placement there could use some work, but other than that a well done quiz.

@Jedidiah P.: You mean one where the answers are "Capitalof, Alabama", "Cold City, Alaska", and so on, with no hints given? Could be interesting.

To fix the speling problem, I open a second page with google, then start spelling the word. It will come up with the right spelling. I don't think it is cheating since you are typing the particular word and not digging for info. Enjoy

@Blossom...Remember four states have capitals starting with the same letter as the state...Deleware is one them. Four are named after presidents, one is Madison. hope that helps.

I typed in so many different variations on tallahassee, and I *know* that was one of them, because I checked the comments and found that spelling so tried it, but it wouldn't take it. Has something gone wrong?

That's so freaky! I got all 50 with 6:03 to spare too! But, I admit, I had to peak at my globe to find out the capital of South Carolina. It really helps when the capital is also the largest city.
