	Wow, I was surprised when I typed in Home Improvement and it came up. Major wild guess on my part. I can't believe it was the #1 show on TV. Am I the only one surprised that it was the top rated show for a year?

	@Lindsay: That's actually a (just slightly) important thing to note, as there was an earlier, short-lived series of the same name which did have punctuation (a slash) in the 80s. By a curious coincidence, it also featured a certain actor who has gone on to do a trio of movies with sequential double-digit numbers in the titles.

	Surprised MASH isn't there. Wasn't its finale the top-rated show ever (most likely never to be surpassed)? (never understood that, as I can't stand MASH.)

	I totally forgot about 60 Minutes being #1 all those years. That was back when I used to watch it too. I had a huge crush on James Brolin when he was on Marcus Welby - sorry I missed that one.

	The only one prior to '75 was I Love Lucy. Just couldn't remember enough of the old tv series' from the 50's and '60's.

	nice idea for a quiz i forgot how popular westerns used to be and didn't think to try unscripted shows...oh and not that it matters but 89/90 it was a tie between roseanne and the cosby show that year so both should be acceptable..I run a trivia night a couple of nights a week and that is run of my favorite questions. Its I think the only time there was a tie for the #1 show, I will even tell people it was a tie between 2 sitcoms 1 one NBC and one on ABC and they still will struggle to get the answer

	American Idol looks like Masterpiece Theater next to Laverne and Shirley or The Beverly Hillbillies. There are a lot of shows on this list that would be to silly to be on the air today. I think that's a loss really.

	35/58. If only I knew how to spell 'Laverne'. (and i wasn't even allowed to watch much TV as a child) @WestWingerjd: It's sad because it's no longer about the quality of a television show or script or even acting; rather, the best 45 minutes of clips from people who can't sing trying to latch onto some semblance of fame. I completely agree with donruss.

	I agree that the bottom 6 shows (for percentage correct) were definitely the hardest. I too am surprised that MASH wasn't on there, as well as Threes Company (though I didn't watch it).

	let.it.go, Beverly Hillbillies was hardly the golden summit of American culture. What this chart will look like in 10 years, I haven't a clue. Maybe I will be watching re-runs of AI and the BH in my spacecar.

	I should have had Texaco Star Theater. I know that was the name of the show, but I typed Milton Berle, then switched to Sid Caesar and Your Show of Shows. Just blew by the right answer.

	40/58, but should have had more. I'm sure my being a former media coordinator/buyer had something to do with getting lot of these. Had everything in the 2nd column except Dynasty and WWTBAM, and I should have known those.
