| Ok guys. If there were a playoff system, it WOULD give us a concise, clear-cut champion, I'm not arguing that. But what else would a playoff system give us? Injuries. Although McCoy got hurt tonight, he was just 1 of VERY FEW big name players that were hurt in bowl games. Playoffs would obviously be more games, and that would bring alot of wear and tear to each and every team. There would be too many injuries(alot of career-ending injuries) and that would ultimately hurt the NFL Draft. Also, you've got to think about the NCAA. If we had a playoff system, the National Championship game would go way past January and February, and into March and April, that would cut into March Madness. The NCAA clearly states that all championship games must be finalized prior to the start of the next season's championship tournaments. Playoffs would violate that rule. |
