By the way, in case anybody's wondering, in the Cricinfo.com statistics, all runs scored in a match are credited to the calendar year in which the match started. I don't imagine this makes a huge difference.

Was trying every derivative of "Yousuf" only to discover it was because I spelled "Mohammad" as "Mohammed" that I couldn't get 2006. That infuriated me since that's the record in a year (1788) and I remember when he took it from Viv. Scored a lof that 1,788 against my beloved W.I. too...

@Vernon G.: `Yousuf' on its own works fine.

Pretty much every quiz on this site that's asking for names accepts just last names. Makes for easy guessing sometimes by just putting common names in like Smith, Johnson, and Jackson

@Leo: Yes, most of the quizzes accept last names and also mention this in the blurb at the top of the page. In this case, guessing common surnames won't help a huge amount but it is often a handy route to an extra half-dozen points.

Hmm, cricket. Not touching this one, lol. I'm sure it's a fine sport, but I know nothing about it and I don't want to embarass myself!

@Gamesmaster: Well spotted! Sorry for accidentally 'Jaz'ing up his name. (Did I really just type that?)

2 things: 1. i tried both ul haq and inzamam and neither worked when i think both should. 2. my uncle is the answer to one of these (Keith Fletcher) and I didn't guess it. I'm embarrassed.

Incidentally, Leo may have given the first use of the verb "to down arrow" ever.

The BBC's live text Olympic coverage may have used the phrase -- they were using up- and down-pointing arrows to indicate the performance of the British athletes.

Vote up comments you like, vote down comments you don't like. For example, people might be tempted to vote down my comment until they remember the concepts of sarcasm and satire. Comments suggesting answers omitted from a quiz (on quizzes different than this, where answers are fitted to a theme rather than a factual list) or just telling how you did on a quiz are usually voted down precipitously.

Only comment is that Chappell marks down both Ian and Greg, but I suppose you can't really avoid that with surnames only.

Bit annoyed I missed the only one on the list that I've met. I met Dennis Amiss at an awards dinner at my local cricket club.

I seem to be the first to get 65/65! (Probably because there haven't been 65 answers for all that long).
