I love that there is discrepancy in how many people got the two hull and two lemieux. Cause all you needed was the last name to get these... Got 2. Knew the #1. Then started guessing common last names...

Why is Shanahan a bonus answer? Why not just make the list 27 people?

I know equally little about the NHL and NFL, but I think I like the NFL quizzes better because usually typing generic names like 'johnson', 'jackson', 'smith' 'thomas' will get you almost 1/2 the answers. That doesn't work with hockey

I guess being a big hockey fan helped here. I'm most surprised about the fact that I was able to spell so many names correctly without help. Fun quiz!

I was surprised Fedorov did not make it since he has been in the playoffs often, but after some wikipedia-ing he only has 52 playoff goals.

@procrstinologist: Glad to see you are using the ultimate research authority. I just stopped by wikipedia and now Federov should be on the list and is also the all-time playoff goal scorer in history

Brett Hull should have an asterisk next to his name. Everyone knows that his series clinching goal in the 3OT of Game Six of the Stanley Cup finals was not legitamite!!! His skate was in the crease!!!!! GRRRR 10 years later and i'm still steamed about that. Buffalo fans are tortured souls.

Claude having more than Mario is shocking. Something to be said for playing an entire career on successful teams.

I got the top two most guessed players first, but for some reason the next name that came to mind was the least guessed player (B.P.). I have no idea what brought that on, as it's not a name I've even thought of for years.

Let it go Dan Zam, Buffalo wouldn't have won that series even if the goal had been discounted. That Stars team was REALLY good... Can't believe I missed Esposito and Trottier...

^^^ I would agree with you if it were the series clinching goal in game 4 of a sweep. But it was the third overtime of game 6. Nobody can tell who would have won that series had the goal been discredited. You can't write off the Buffalo Sabres with Hasek when he was in his prime.

I'm not necessarily saying Buffalo would have won the series either, but it should have ended legitimately no matter who won.

I guess Shanahan i s abonus answer since he's still active. Got 24/26 +the bonus. Was baffled by Bobby Smith, never expected him to be there.

Tikkanen and Propp holy ****. I got the bonus in Shanny, and peach I had the same type of mistake with the Oilers but forgot Anderson. Got 23/26 including the bonus.. not too bad I think, I was surprised with Lemaire being on there.

Tikkanen shocks me, Smith and Propp surprises me. A guy that could manage no more than 35 goals or so in the regular season is 14th on the all-time playoff scoring list ahead of the likes of Dionne, Perreault, Kerr, Lindsay, etc?

Ugh- I was a Jacques Lemaire away from acing it. Even though I know he was an offensive player, I always forget about him. His coaching mentality has diminished my memory of his offensive touch.

@Albinowolf: No, this quiz is up to date, except that it says that Claude Lemieux and Joe Sakic, both of whom have been retired since 2009 and will be eligible for HoF consideration soon are active...
