	The Calcutta Cup is not presented to the 6 Nations Champion. It is a cup presented to either England or Scotland depending on who wins that game each year. There are similar trophies in Rugby such as "Millenium Trophy" - England vs Ireland. "Bledisloe Cup" - Australia vs New Zealand. There's a vast array of them.

	Cool quiz idea but there's too many that are way too hard because they are never refered to by their real names such as the World Series Winner. There is also alot more college football awards such as the Maxwell that you didn't include.

	The Soccer clue would benefit from it being specified that we're talking about national teams, not clubs. I was flummoxed by why "club world cup" wasn't getting taken until I tried typing "World" for something else, and got it by surprise.

	I tried 'Wales' and 'Campbell' for the NHL conference awards, but they didn't work - that's what the conferences were formally known as and what the trophies are most often called. I didn't have to put the full name for most other trophies, so why should those be exceptions?

	What about college football awards like the Maxwell (also most outstanding player) but nothing compared to the Heisman. There is also the Chuck Bednarik Award for best defensive player, Davey O'Brien Award for best QB, Doak Walker Award for best running back, Fred Biletnikoff Award for best WR, or even the Lou Groza Award for best kicker/ Ray Guy Award for best punter.

	The NHL seems very overrepresented compared to everything else. There are a lot of other awards for other sports that would seem way more relevant than the NHL's award for best sportsmanship.

	I disagree that hockey is overrepresented, because unlike most of the other major sports, hockey's trophies are almost exclusively known by their official names (Art Ross, Hart, Vezina, etc.) and therefore they fit into a quiz like this perfectly - I thought those were really easy to get. Whereas the NBA trophies are much more obscure - they're usually just called Rookie of the Year, MVP, etc. So it makes sense to have a lot more NHL trophies than most of the other major sports, because hockey is the only league that has a lot of trophies with widely known official names.

	@Monoclinic: The trophy currently awarded to the winner of the FIFA World Cup is, rather unimaginatively, called the FIFA World Cup Trophy. The Jules Rimet Trophy was the previous trophy, which was given permanently to Brazil after they won the World Cup for the third time in 1970. It was stolen in 1983 and has never been recovered; presumably, it was melted down.

	laugh 33 out of 48 are for American events and people are arguing about which particular American sports are over-represented. Relatively speaking, there aren't that many Sporcle users who care much about non-American sports, so I have no particular complaint with this quiz but I still think it's kinda funny.

	Lindsay: It's nothing against the NHL, it just seems excessive to have 1/3 of the answers of this quiz be for all the different NHL named trophies where there are so many other named awards out there. College Football has about 40 different awards, most known by their names. I'd say the same thing if 20 of them were listed on this quiz. There are many other named awards and accolades out there in other sports. There's no America's Cup or Sullivan award, only one for soccer, but the NHL has almost as much (just one shy) of MLB, NBA and NFL combined. It's not a comprehensive list, so I don't see how "they have them" would be a reason for having so many more than any other sport.

	Also, many of the awards and trophies out there in the world are named after the event itself, which make them pretty unfriendly to this quiz format, such as America's Cup, FA Cup, and many tennis and golf events.

	Mattchu: Actually, the America's Cup was named after the first yacht to win it. It was originally named after a yacht club in the UK and became the America's Cup after the America won the event.

	"FedEx Cup" is flat-out wrong. The "Player of the Year" award is called the Jack Nicklaus Trophy. please fix this.

	The top 3 baseball ones are so obscure its ridiculous. The only time you may hear them called that is during the trophy presentations. I bet if there was a hall of fame baseball sporcle,Giles and Harridge would be among the lowest guessed answers.I tried about 15-20 other commisioners/pioneers before them

	My point exactly - the baseball/basketball ones are super obscure even to the most die-hard fans of those leagues, whereas the hockey names are commonly known among the biggest fans. Hence having lots of hockey trophies listed makes sense for this quiz even if it is a less popular sport overall, because those official trophy names are more recognizable and guessable.

	I also flunked the baseball awards for winning World Series and league titles. The Rookie of the Year is names for Jackie Robinson, that should be included.

	The problem is that adding all the hockey ones doesn't balance it out, as its just going to be, as you said, the biggest NHL fans that know most of them. It just skews the percentage to be more favorable to fans of the NHL. I'm not saying it's overrepresented because of the popularity of the sport, but because of the percentage of answers on this quiz that are NHL awards. And another comment on the America's Cup, it's not an event, perse, the cup is won when a team challenges and beats the team currently holding it, as opposed to it being an annual race or anything of that nature.

	Well, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't think it's skewed towards NHL fans - I think the names of the hockey trophies are common enough that most sports fans in general could get them without too much difficulty, or would have at the very least heard of them before. Whereas I think only the absolute biggest MLB and NBA fans would have even heard of the "Gottlieb" or "Harridge" trophies. The specific hockey trophy names are less obscure and more widely used and therefore probably more recognizable to the casual fan.

	Shouldn't people realize by now that quizzes on this site are more weighted towards an American perspective? If you really have that much of a problem with the under-representation of rest of the world's sports and such, then why not you know, send the information and I'm sure the admin would be happy to put it up. The argument about the NHL having many awards is valid here. Sure there could have been extra awards for the other of the "Big 4" American sports, but most people will probably have difficulty naming the ones presented as has been noted. And so what if there are a lot of NHL ones? So you don't know all the NHL awards and... why does the matter? Is there some sort of award for those who get the highest scores on Sporcle? Nope. Are you that desperate for achievement that you need to score well on trivia quizzes when you are the only one who will ever know your score unless you reveal it? Use it as a chance to learn something about an area you obviously have little knowledge over - and it is not like that is a bad thing. People can only take in so much information; no one can be an expert in everything. This is trivia, not life and death; get over yourself if you treat it as anything more.

	Yes...because this is an American site. The "American bias" complaints are really starting to get old - for a site founded and run by Americans, there is more than a fair share of non-American content. If you want more non-American quizzes, then go to a non-American site.

	The reaction of `This is an American site — clear off and make your own' always saddens me. Sporcle has a potential audience of 490M in the European Union, versus only 300M in the USA — I'd see that as a massive opportunity, rather than something to be belittled and dismissed. Doesn't the frequency of the complaints against American bias suggest that there are lots of non-Americans who want to participate here but currently feel marginalized?

	I feel that more quizzes need to be geared towards a non-AMerican audience. Yes the site is based in the USA but this is the internet and national boundaries are pretty meaningless (isn't that one of the positive points of the internet). However saying that one way to get quizzes that are geared for a non-American audience is for more non-American users to post more quiz suggestions.
