Nice quiz. I'm still waiting to see when he comes out with another GOOD film though. : )

I agree with Jaspa. He's a one trick pony. Surely there are other directors who are more deserving of a Sporcle quiz?

I do agree that there are other directors that are more deserving of a quiz. However I don't believe he was a "one trick pony" the Sixth Sense was a classic but I liked Unbreakable just as much. So, maybe he was a two trick pony, lol!!

You know you're a fan if you got the two that preceded The Sixth Sense.

got all but the 2 before 6th sense..in my opinion I feel he is hit or miss I thought signs and yes the Happening were very creative, But i thought the rest of his movies sucked, 6th sense was fine but I thought it was a rip off from Stir of echos

I disagree Patrick, and so do millions of people out there. Just look at his box office success and DVD sales.

I didn't consider myself a fan, but I didn't know Unbreakable was his - I really liked that film.

I think this quiz is suitable, he has so few films it's easy to remember all but the first two. I stopped watching him with the 2002 one. Such an awful movie.

Figures I'd miss the only movie of his I like. The others were all okay, but none of them touch Unbreakable in my eyes. That one's a great movie.

for some reason I was under the impression that Sixth Sense was his first movie. Guess it was just his first hit.

Worst director ever? Come on, his scripts are terrible, but at least the films are well made. If you want a terrible director, check out Bert I. Gordon, Roger Corman, David Hills, Coleman Francis, Sam Newfield, Edward D. Wood, Paul W. S. Anderson, or Uwe Boll. They all make Shaymalan look like Francis Ford Coppola.

I'd rather watch a Uwe Boll movie than more garbage from M. Night. Box office success has nothing to do with quality of a movie, hundreds of terrible movies do well opening weekend. Unbreakable had a decent idea and mediocre plot, but the ending was so awful it ruined the whole film. Oooh, Bruce Willis tells the cops and the bad guy gets arrested...big whoop. I know it was supposed to be a trilogy, but the reviews and reaction by critics and fans were so bad M. Night decided not to make the next two. Sixth Sense was his best movie at maybe a 7/10. No one can say The Village, Lady in the Water or The Happening were any good, and no one's seen the first two. So the guy's a hack.

any time i hear M Night's name, i always think of the skit from Robot Chicken where after anything happens, M Night looks at the camera and says "what a twist!" Is it just me, or is "Lady in the Water" one of the worst titles for a movie? I remember seeing the preview and the movie looked all intense, and then the title came up and i was like "really? that's it"...in my opinion, the sixth sense was the only good movie he made. feel free to agree or disaggree, but thats how i feel

I didn't get his first two films. Overall, though, He makes one or two good films and then makes one or two bad ones. Very unpredictable, but I like him.

His last two movies have been pretty boring. The Happening had an interesting story to it, but I just didn't like the way it was executed. Lady-yeah, that was a pretty horrible movie. In fact, I really only like one of his movies-Unbreakable. Amazingly, I've never watched Sixth Sense....

@John Lambeth: SPOILER ALERT!: I liked "The Village" too, although it breaks my heart that I was taking an Art and Architecture in America class at the time. When the first shots of the houses came in, I turned to my wife (then girlfriend) and said, "Wait a minute, these houses were certainly not in style during colonial times. They didn't come about until much later." Kinda ruined it for me.

Bad director? You could say that. Worst director? Not even close. Uwe Boll makes him look like Martin Scorsese

Sixth Sense and Unbreakable were amazing films!! But everything since have been colossal piles of crap. Actually The Village was bearable... not good, bearable.

Shyamalan's movies are at least decently made, even if the plot tends to go a bit hokey at the end.

And he's definitely not worse than Uwe Boll. That guy can't do -anything- right. Have you seen any of his movies? They're just really badly made films. They can't even get the effects right.

Lady in the Water is the worst movie I have ever seen. I recommend it to all my friends so that when we discuss movies we have a lowest common denominator to compare all other horrible movies to.
