Where are the classics? Sherlock Hemlock, the Salesman, Roosevelt Franklin and Herbert Birdsfoot?

What about the twiddle bugs? Kermit?

Kermit should absolutely be included. His most famous quote may be "It's not easy being green," but the next one has to be "Hi ho, this is Kermit the Frog, here with the question of the day!" Ah memories...

Kermit used to be a news reporter on Sesame Street if I remember correctly.

And to be fair, all of these characters are Muppets. Trust me, I had this argument with a girl my freshman year of high school. I invoked the 30th anniversary special where they are clearly defined as muppets. Wow, I'm a nerd...

Kermit the Frog was one of the original muppets that appeared on Sesame Street in 1969. When Jim Henson started The Muppet Show in 1976, Kermit moved primarily to the Muppet Show, although he would still appear occasionally on Sesame Street. When Jim Henson died, Kermit only appeared in rerun skits from earlier in the series.

I don't remember ever seeing the three bears on Sesame Street...maybe they're before my time.

The three bears are still on Sesame Street (but mostly just baby bear now).

this should accept "mamma" bear and "pappa" bear - i missed those cuz of spelling! (and while i usually support strict spelling guidelines, in this case most people only ever hear the names of the sesame street character, and those are perfectly legitimate spellings)

Early Sesame Street featured a lot of Kermit - long before the Muppet Show ever made it to the airwaves. I'm surprised there weren't more classic characters also. I still walk around singing 'Roosevelt Franklin... El-e-ment-ary Schoooool'

Yip yip yip yip yip yip yip uh huh. I was trying to remember what those things said so I could remember their names, then I saw their names and it came to me instantly. xD And I kept trying "Snuffleuffagus" I didn't know it had P's in the name. Nor did I realize it had a first name. xD

i love sesame street. i still watch it with my three little siblings. but i deffinitely liked the older sesame street better. they've added a bunch of rap and stuff and it makes the show less enjoyable in my opinion.

"Herry Monster" and "Telly Monster" are the "full names" of those two characters. If you accept "Telly" for one, you should accept "Herry" for the other. Reference: http://www.sesamestreet.org/characters

OMG I forgot about Herry. I mean I remembered him upon doing the quiz, but I had forgotten about him for awhile. I kept writing Smiley because I knew his name was Smiley, but it wouldn't accept it...I love the YipYips!

The Amazing Mumford magician always cracked me up with his "Ala peanut butter sandwiches!" And since Kermit has been mentioned a lot, don't forget his nephew, Robin, who basically was a smaller version of Kermit and also was on the show off and on.

all this talk of the veggie monster is groundless nonsense. the cookie monster is still called the cookie monster and there are no plans to the contrary. Sure, his new anthem is "A Cookie is a Sometimes Food", but that doesnt change the fact that he still eats cookies and is still called the cookie monster. Oh and uh, nice quiz.
