We Rosarinos are sure we are the second largest in Argentina jaja. Also in another sporkle quiz I thought it showed Belo Horizonte as the 3rd largest Brazilian city but I might be wrong.

@mark: You're probably thinking of the Americas Most Populous Cities quiz. I've not gone back to check the details but bear in mind that the two quizzes might be using different definitions of the extent of particular cities. Depending on how much of the suburban sprawl is included, cities may be ranked in a different order.

Surprised not to see neither Concepción or Valparaiso for Chile. I'd heard of those two, but hadn't heard of Chile's #2 or #3 on this list.

I love these. I've been fortunate enough to complete 3/3, though certainly far from my first try. This one was mastered in just three tries, I think, though. :)

The three largest brazilian cities are São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador. Belo Horizonte is the 3rd richest city on Brazil, mark, after São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. 8D

Puente Alto is a Santiago, Chile suburb. No one in Chile considers it its own city.

The third Uruguayan city is incorrect. Ciudad de la Costa is not really a city but more like a suburb of the capital, Montevideo. It doesn't even have its own Wikipedia page! It makes more sense to call Paysandú the third largest Uruguayan city.

sao paulo is the correct spelling for the city, since "paulo" is portuguese for "paul", not "paolo", 'cause this is italian or spanish

Cornelis Lely was the main designer of the Zuiderzee project and was minister of transport of the Netherlands. 'Dorp' means village in Dutch. That's how Suriname, a former Dutch colony, has gotten a city called Lelydorp.

@tobinw I agree. The three biggest cities in Chile are Santiago, Concepcion and Valparaiso. Puente Alto as @jp992751 said is part of Santiago, not a city per se. Viña is part of the Valparaiso conurbation.

Emperor Ata: according to the Uruguayan Census Bureau, Ciudad de la Costa is a city, therefore the name "Ciudad". When I got stuck, I thought "Maybe I should try if New Amsterdam is a city in Suriname"... I should have done it and would have reached 24. A bit annoyed that I missed Cali , Salvador, Maracaibo and Arequipa.

Ben, don't you think "Valparaíso," "Concepción," and "Bogotá" (with the acute accents) should be accepted? That is inconsistent with the rest of your quizzes, which have all the accents (in such names as "São Paulo" and "Asunción").
