	Yeah, Rolling Stone's musical lists are atrocious. That said, they severely undersold one 70s album: DSOTM only came in at 43? Really? I mean, it only was number one on the charts for five effing years. But hey, gotta make sure every Beatles album ever recorded gets in there (and I like the Beatles).

	seriously. thank god "meet the beatles" was on their, as was most of led zeppelin, but only two bruce springsteen albums. There isn't a chance that little richard is a better album than born in the usa.

	Actually most of Led Zeppelin isn't on there. Only 4 of their 9 studio albums are on the list.

	i wish the time limit was a little longer, towards the end i was skipping thinking of the answer in favor of filling in the ones i knew immediately, another minute or two would have helped on those.

	I could understand if this were a list of most influential albums, but this list just goes to show that a lot of these "top ___ of all time" lists exist to proclaim that older = better, which is not always the case.

	I think this list stems from the 500 Best Album list that Rolling Stone did in 2003, but it is very similar to a list that they did in 1987. I think the criteria for that one was something like the best 100 albums of the past twenty years (1967-1987). If anything, the new list seems even more weighted towards the 1960s and 1970s, which says a lot about that magazine.

	I think Radiohead is over-rated. They have a unique sound and not many artists are similar, so their fans have little else to listen to and they get too much adoration as a result. OK Computer was fine, but it wasn't that good. It receives more credit than it's due.

	Dark Side of the Moon is impressive because it has been in the weekly top 100 best selling list since its release in January, 1973 (I think). That's a world record of over 1600 weeks.

	half the people who voted on the list in that issue are the ones whose albums are high on the list. but i think this is better than a lot RS lists, like greatest guitarists.

	At least this list isn't as atrocious as the guitarist one... more Pink Floyd and Zeppelin should be there though, both of whom were masters of the concept of the 'album'. King Crimson's "In the Court of the Crimson King" is also masterful, but what are ya gonna do?

	any Bruce fan will tell you that even though Born In The USA may be Bruce's most commercially successful album, it is nowhere near his best. Born To Run, The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle; and Darkness on the Edge of Town are the three best, and there are a handful more (The Rising, The River, Greetings) that are better than Born in the USA...also MEet the Beatles before Physical Grafitti...cmon

	I hope everyone's having fun with this one, whether you agree with it or not. I guess that since there are few complaints about the quiz itself, I did my job. I know it's tough- I got 72, and I both know a lot about music and made the quiz- but I like the toughies.

	they must really have something against Clapton - no Cream, Yardbirds, Blind Faith, Derek&the Dominos (Layla) or solo Clapton. Maybe Clapton and Dylan got into a slappy fight once.

	agreed that radiohead turned into an overhyped media darling and the music from kid a onward failed to keep up with the hype. but, pound for pound, song for song, ok computer can hold its own with all of the albums on this list.

	The absence of Layla is surprising, especially given the context of this being a Rolling Stone list of almost all 60s and 70s albums.

	Why is that the fact that Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Van Halen and Metallica are left of this list has stopped surprising me? The fact that VH1's lists hold more credibility than Rolling Stone's is quite disturbing.

	@Yetti: All of the albums you mention were extremely popular in their time. Some a little less recognizable than Nevermind, and some a little more (like Ten, which greatly outsold Nirvana's album). Picking one album to represent an entire genre of popular music is tough and Nevermind is as decent a choice as any. It's not like STP, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, or Alice in Chains are underrated masters - they are all very famous, get plenty of airplay, sell out arenas... I don't really understand your argument. What's worse is their attempt to represent all of Jazz by picking two Miles Davis albums and a John Coltrane album. They should have just left those off and made a separate Jazz list.

	People need to chill about this list. I understand griping out how some of the more excellent albums of oft-snubbed genres losing out to greatest hits collections and mediocre albums by legendary artists is bad, but STP? BOC? I'll buy putting Paranoid or Van Halen's debut on the list, but not these second-tier grunge or metal acts.

	What did Zeppelin ever do to piss off Rolling Stone? Where is houses of the holy??? And their other four albums should be MUCH higher... Physical Graffiti is better than any of the 50 million Beatles albums on the list and I like the beatles. Appetite, Dark Side and Back in Back are also way too low. Where is Pearl Jam's "Ten"? That along with the black album are probably the two biggest snubs.

	I do think Nevermind is one of the most overrated albums of all time and doesn't deserve such a high rank.That and PJ's Ten was and is much better.Also no VH,Def Lep,or Metallica.If they are going to give Nirvana mainly because it was the first blockbuster grunge album you need Metallica M.O.P.as first great thrash album.With that said this list is so subjective and no way will you please everyone.
