What about Siam? Every version that I've seen has it, but is listed as South-east Asia on here. Siam is a crucial territory when it comes to strategy, it deserves its original name.

sweet, i've never played, and i got 36. this is a fun quiz for non-risk players because it is somewhat of a vernacular geographical regions quiz (which, of course, means that the map layout is much preferred to the list layout). :) well done sporcle

Phew, I thought I was going crazy because I thought for sure I remembered it as Siam. Apparently everyone else does too.

It accepts Siam now, but I really think it should be considered the primary answer for that territory. I've never seen it called anything but Siam in any version of the game I've played (probably 3 or 4).

I got all of them, but I've wasted way too much time with this game. Wouldn't mind seeing a quiz on Diplomacy...

36/42. Never played Risk, only heard of it. Didn't get the Russian stuff. I spelt Siberia as Syberia.

Nice twist on the geography games! But I missed Northwest Territory because I typed "Territories". Grr.

It's an interesting twist that Risk refers to all of European Russia as `Ukraine' when it's much more common to refer to the whole of the former Soviet Union as `Russia'. :-)

I made the same mistake with Papua New Guinea. However, I forgot that Papua New Guinea is only half of New Guinea.

Great quiz; extremely well executed! I echo the Northwest Territory(ies) issue. I must have typed in Northwest Territories 4 or 5 separate times! As for the Ukraine, the Ukraine is weak. It's feeble. I think it's time to put the hurt on the Ukraine!

Ukraine and CHina are bad because they have the most adjacent countries with 6; however, there good places to launch an offensive from.

Loved this one. All 42 on the first try, which I attribute to many hours wasted playing this game. If you like Risk, try playing with "Whales," using the whale picture as another territory connecting Western Australia to Madagascar. Quite the fun twist.

@Jaspa: I have a computer game "Risk II" which has a lot of optional territories. New Zealand, connecting Australia to Argentina; Falkland Islands, connecting Argentina to South Africa; Hawaii, connecting Japan to the US, Philippines connecting New Guinea to Japan, etc. It becomes a totally different game that way.

I didn't do too bad considering I haven't seen this version since I was a kid. We have the Lord of the Rings version now.
