I agree too - there should be seven colors.

Color scientists typically divide the light spectrum at about 450 nm between violet and blue, disregarding indigo as a color. Besides, everyone knows it's just a dark blue, anyway.

Indigo is a myth created by Isaac Newton who believed in the mystic properties of the number 7 and did not believe that God whold have created a color spectrum that had only 6 colors.

I typed in both "indigo" and "violet," and neither was accepted. I typed in "purple" and 'violet' lit up on the rainbow. :(

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visible_spectrum#Spectral_colors http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indigo "Although traditionally considered one of seven divisions of the optical spectrum, modern color scientists do not usually recognize indigo as a separate division and generally classify wavelengths shorter than about 450 nm as violet."

I'm sorry, but if you're going to leave out one of the colors included in the mnemonic device "Roy G. Biv," it should be indigo that's left out and not blue. There is some argument about whether indigo is one of the colors of the spectrum, but none about blue!
