| @gopaladins If you think about it the dispersion of American teams is not THAT different. In the UK there are no major college sports. In the USA college sports are on par with the championship in terms of support and in some cases on par or surpasses the prem. Take a city like Washington DC that is not that large of a city, they have the Nationals, Wizards, Capitals, Redskins, DC United and Georgetown Basketball, all of which have large followings, not to mention George Washington, George Mason, American, the Mystics and the new Womens soccer team.
In the UK there is soccer and to a lesser extent rugby, and that is it. So when you look at the actual number of sports teams the set up is similar. |
