	the inconsistencies with what was needed for an answer (ie united is needed for leeds, but not newcastle) really threw me for a loop. other than that, i really enjoyed this quiz- its nice for a yank like myself to learn some premier league history.

	Great quiz. It is a bit confusing with the names though. For some you need to type in the full names but for others you don't. I started to type 'Sheffield Wednesday' but Sheffield Utd came up as soon as I typed Sheffield but the former didn't. That's not complaint, it just seems some answers are too strict on wording and others too easy. Terrific idea for a quiz, well done!

	Perhaps this is me just being an uninformed American, but I would think United should be necessary for ManU. I know there is a great distinction between the historical significance of ManU and Man City, but wouldn't it be essentially the same as counting Los Angeles for the Los Angeles Lakers (14 NBA championships), but not for the Los Angeles Clippers (0 NBA championships)?

	@jaspa: I agree. If 'Manchester' is acceptable for Manchester United, then it should also be acceptable for Manchester City. Otherwise users may overlook the other Manchester, because they've already typed it but it did not come up.

	Great quiz. Poor Wigan, only 50% of people remember they've been in the Premier League these last four years! You have to feel for Southampton and Leeds now. Got them all bar Wimbledon which completely omitted--perhaps understandable considering they don't exist anymore!

	wimbeldon do exist, kinda MK Dons took on there history didnt they, and AFC Wimbeldon spiritually continued where the club left off. doesnt matter cuz i still forget them :) why i forgot derby ill never know, Oldham and swindon i'd have never thought made the premier, i thought there hey-day came in the old division 1. Crystal palace i should have got 37/42

	40/42 - completely forgot about Reading and Swindon Town. Seems a bit strange saying that Hull and Stoke haven't played a 'full season', its not like they can lose their status as premier league team now. Of those teams I have had season tickets at Wimbledon, Charlton and Norwich (but I'm a West Ham fan) - I've seen 43 of these teams in action so I would have been ashamed if i got less than this!

	First time in ages that I have gotten all of them first try! I am proud. One of my favourite little football nuggets is that the season that Barnsley spent in the Premiership, some bookies were offering the same odds on them winning the league as Michael Jackson and LaToya Jackson being proven to be the same person. Brilliant.

	@jaspa : I nearly missed Sheff Wed because of that issue. Managed to get all 42 which I am very pleased about. Took ages to remember Stoke City! I only got them because I realised I was short of a current Premier League side. @ BenUK Sadly, Hull City (where I was a student) can easily be relegated this season. However, as someone who lived most of his life in Newcastle I don't want them to go down either. Perhaps Sunderland will do both of them a favour ;-)

	@davidr: That was a bizarre typo, not sure how i managed it. The only teams i havent seen are Swindon and Oldham. Just seemed that 'full season' was a strange was to go about it rather than saying 'number of seasons' as it threw me for a while. @Zalx: That is a great bit of trivia, but I'm a little surprised as didn't Barnsley have the legend that is Neil Redfearn playing for them (a league winner if ever i saw one!)

	i'm glad this quiz was posted so that i can learn some stuff. i hope some of you brits will suffer a few american questions. the first question is dumb: do all of those lesser-known teams REALLY have that many fans? the UK is not (physically) large. all these teams must be crammed in there. it seems most brits would just pick one of the big 4 and support them. for example, are there really dedicated hull fans? why support a team in the championship league for years when very few of them stand a chance of making the premiership? i guess i just don't understand that kind of dedication. even if i support the worst MLB or NBA or NFL (or even MLS) team for years and years, at least i know they'll never get demoted. is attending a reading game at all like attending a minor league baseball game in america? i have a hard time understanding why people would bother. i've been to some minor league baseball games. they're fun, but i don't care who wins (though i guess i know of people who do). anyway, i'm making an effort to get into "football." i've chosen to support fulham, because clint dempsey attended my college. go paladins. i've clearly got a lot to learn.

	@MikeHolmes90: I have followed the events at AFC Wimbledon closely as i used to have a Wimbledon season ticket. A few years ago MK Dons actually severed all ties to the predecessors and in a display 'generosity' reliquished their FA Cup replica to the founders of AFC Wimbledon. In my eyes MK Dons will never shake off the shame from which they were founded, and it saddens me to see them pushing for promotion to the championship while AFC Wimbledon slowly make their way through the non league structure, but looks like automatic promotion to the conference will put them in touching distance of the football league - an inspirational rise

	@gopaladins: Every team has a great loyal following. True fans support the team near where they grew up and/or live. Sadly this is not always the case as some fans are simply born as glory-hunters and look for the slightest family tie that connects them to Man Utd or Chelsea. I am currently living in Norwich and the local support for a team at the bottom of the championship is remarkable (selling out their 25,000 seater stadium week after week). Generally the local stance in football supporting stems from the creation of the football league that tied in with new regulations that gave workers saturday afternoons off. Therefore on a saturday most workers would leave their places of work and go to the football - and you could only get to see your local team.

	@gopaladins: Imagine how boring sport would be if you only ever supported teams that could win the league. I'm a Newcastle fan and it's never a dull day here especially with the very real threat of relegation! You can go down to the 4th league and you still get plenty of die hard fans. I find it a shame when i travel to places like Australia and the US and 95% of people support one of the top 4, it's just not fun. Also there are 60million of us here in the UK, plenty of people to share support around teams.

	@gopaladins If you think about it the dispersion of American teams is not THAT different. In the UK there are no major college sports. In the USA college sports are on par with the championship in terms of support and in some cases on par or surpasses the prem. Take a city like Washington DC that is not that large of a city, they have the Nationals, Wizards, Capitals, Redskins, DC United and Georgetown Basketball, all of which have large followings, not to mention George Washington, George Mason, American, the Mystics and the new Womens soccer team. In the UK there is soccer and to a lesser extent rugby, and that is it. So when you look at the actual number of sports teams the set up is similar.

	@steesh182 it is difficult to support a team other than chelsea/manu/lpool/arsenal when the other teams get so little TV coverage. Fulham is sort of the exception since they have been shown so much over the last 3 years due to the high number of Americans that have been on the team. I know when Watford went up, I tried to supporting them and Jay Demerit, but it was near impossible. I support Blackpool, but I have only seen 1 game ever, I hope that if they ever promote I will be able to follow them more closely. Sorry for all the comments!

	well i have to stand up for the US a little bit. americans manage to financially support four major leagues (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, each of which have at least 30 teams) and their farm affiliates, not to mention golf and tennis and NASCAR, and a slew of other sporting orgs. granted, we have 300 million people and we're very spread out. sure, teams like the yankees/redsox and steelers and lakers have fans from all over (because they win). but most teams have strong local support. that being said, we don't really have any really strong lower leagues. i doubt you'd often find 25k fans at a minor league baseball game. BUT, college sports are huge. more questions: does the UK have strong college sports? how much are championship league matches televised in the UK???

	Well, when players like Clint Dempsy and Carlos Bocanegra (both huge national team players) were at Fulham, the casual US National Team fan, who does not really follow club soccer, adopted Fulham as their team. Channels like FSC recognized that and started showing Fulham more often, even when they played bottom of the table teams. This allowed new Fulham fans to start meeting at bars to watch the games and now there are cities with solid Fulham support.

	@ gopaladins: does the UK have strong college sports? how much are championship league matches televised in the UK??? No, the college sport scene is non-existant. The only college sport of note is the annual Oxford vs. Cambridge boat race. Championship matches are on TV a lot, on Sky Sports (subscription TV) and there is a highlights programme on normal (terrestial) TV. In fact even the 5th tier of football (Blue Square Premier) gets screened on Sky Sports once a week or so.
