The likes of Ferguson, Vieira and Jones near the top didn't surprise. Some absences did surprise me though; 'Razor' Ruddock with his hard man image, Ben Thatcher and Robbie Savage.

Really, the soccer quizzes are getting out of control. I understand there needs to be variety but this is becoming ridiculous.

Football (not American) is the most popular game in the world, so there should be more quizzes for "soccer". There are also many quizzes for basketball and baseball, can I say they are out of control?

@Dodge: If you click the 'sports' category for quizzes, roughly two thirds are from the big 4 US sports, NFL, NHL, NBA and MLB. About 1/4 are from football, and the rest are other sports.

@OscilatingGibbon: Um. Yes, about 2/3 of the Sporcle Sports quizzes are about the big 4 US sports (about 200 out of about 320). But, unless you mean that 1/4 are American football, I've no idea where you get that number from. There are about 30 soccer quizzes, which is barely 1/11.

Why are Americans always whining about football quizzes? We know you feel threatened because noone in the world except you likes your 'sports'. Just don't make it that obvious, this is becoming ridiculous.

Confused at to why all the others tied on 4 red cards haven't been included. If it's to do with length surely it would have been better to leave them all out?

good quiz - only gripe was the asterisk by some of the club names with no apparent explanation as to what it means (unless I'm missing something very obvious!)

@Dodge: what is truly ridiculous is the number of US Sport quizzes on subjects that don't even make sense to a non-American: what is a 30-30 season, for instance? We need more football (soccer) quizzes since people around the world actually watch the sport.

Loving the footy quizzes...I think it might be good to branch out a bit and do more International football. Stuff like top Italian/Spanish/French all time league goal scorers, clubs of certain leagues (Argentina/Brazil etc), more World Cup winning squads etc etc- most caps for nations also should be done...possibilities are endless...

Can we all just pretend Dodge's comment didn't happen and move on? For Chrissakes, all Americans do is piss and moan whenever there's a non-American quiz, but there's also an influx of Britons complaining whenever there's an American sports quiz. Sporcle isn't your personal slave designed to make quizzes precisely for your benefit--it's trying to entertain the most people possible, and with a huge range ranging from American football to association football, I'd say they're doing a relatively good job. And it's not like you HAVE to play the new quizzes anyway.

John, that's not really a fair assessment. I understand that non Americans like "football," and I wrote my comment without bashing it, trying to be as reasonable as possible. Others who responded to my comment did not have the decency to refrain from bashing sports that we Americans like. I know there are non-Americans here but I'd argue that the majority of Sporclers are American. That would be interesting to know, for sure.

@Dodge. You're so right. 1 in 11 quizzes about the world's number one sport is completely ridiculous. I think you should get a full refund of your Sporcle membership fee immediately...

@ Dodge: Football is the most popular sport in the work. Rugby & Cricket are more popular than your national sports. All 3 of these British sports have more history than the 4 US sports, all 3 are played internationally. By internationally, I mean, other nations across the world actually care about competiting in said sports. If you take into account that, the amount of trophies/competitions that are at stake the amount of teams/players/coaching that are part if the sport, the real arguement is why isn't there more quizes on Football. Think outside the bubble you call America. Fool.

@Dodge: You complained that having thirty out of about 320 sports quizzes about football is `getting out of control' and `becoming ridiculous'. If that's you `trying to be as reasonable as possible', I'd hate to see your comments when you're letting rip.

Sheesh, the football fans are awfully rude. Wasn't aware that my comments warranted name calling and belittling. Oh well.
