a four of a kind is higher than a straight flush. a royal flush (10, J, Q, K, A of one suit) is the highest hand

In my opinion, a Royal Flush should be up there at the top.

A royal flush is just a straight flush that ends with an ace. And four of a kind is not higher than a straight flush.

If you're the kind to play with wild cards, a five of a kind would be the highest hand. But no one with a shred of self respect does so.

a Royal Straight Flush is the highest hand, and a 5 of a kind does not exist, there are only four suits!?!? Wildcards/ Jokers don't count in the REAL rules. Also Texas Holden makes me sick, can't believe it's on like 7 channels daily, people seriously watch it?? WOW.... YEAH America!!!

When you look at the most missed answers, it still has the best-worst scale on the left, but they're rearranged by % guessed right. Any way to fix that?

Royal flush and straight flush should definitely be separated. Also, FOLD should also be included because you will not always have a hand having at least the high card. :)

@Derek Jones: My hand contains a "Fold" lol,..... everyone has a high card, yours might not be the winning high card but you still got one!

I love how every comment has negative except for 3 (4 including this one, please). Reading some of the comments here (Derek Jones, Brandon, Peter...) there are a lot of people (read: idiots) who don't know how to play poker, apparently.

And for the record, maybe "high card" should be accepted for high card. After that didn't work I was afraid I wasn't going to get all of them (I did, though).

You can't beat 4 aces with a Royal Flush.

micah, are you dumb? a royal flush is THE best hand you can possibly have in poker, even better than 4 aces.

Technically, Micah is correct, if you're playing with a normal deck without wild cards. Think about it.

No, technically, Micah is correct. If you have 4 aces, then the other player CAN'T have a royal flush because there is no ace is the deck for him to use.

Though by that token, if someone has a royal flush then the other player CAN'T have 4 aces, now can he/she?

@ Micah: Think communal cards. In Texas Hold'em, if two aces, k, q, and something else are communal cards and one player is holding the other two aces, it is still possible for player 2 to have a royal flush holding 10, j of the same suit of the communal cards.

Got them all but there needs to be some leeway on the worst hand. I tried all sorts of things including 'high' before trying nothing, which was accepted.

I think there should be a Royal Flush here. Also you guys forget about video poker. You've got most money from Royal Flush and Straight flush is higher than Four of a kind there.

Stuart, that site shows the rules for ONE game. texas hold 'em is not the only form of poker. a royal flush is the highest hand in poker without the use of wildcards

@ p337: It's because they happen to have the Best and Worst cases in the right places in the right place while all the others are just dots so they all look the same.

Couldn't 'highest card' be accepted for 'high card'?
