| For all of those complaining about the lack of traditionally-animated films, stop and name one Oscar-worthy traditionally-animated film that came out from 2001-2009. Or at least one that was better than whatever won in it's year.
See, the fact of the matter is that there aren't any. Why? Because, let's face it, until John Lasseter came in to Pixar everyone in the industry but him had written off theatrical 2D western cartoons as a dead art form. I'm not saying that they all agreed that it should be, but that's the way it was. So, if Disney continues on it's current path, and others follow suit, maybe we'll see a traditionally-animated film win in this category. Until then, accept that this was the way it happened and that the tide will probably turn sometime soon. |
