	@Dummo. I disagree entirely. These are the states even informed people hear VERY little about, so there's really no guessing at all if you read any sort of news.

	my only beef is that the bonuses aren't states, so whats the point? Good quiz, but poor bonuses.

	Jesus Christ, not every quiz is going to be relevant to every person. Sporcle isn't some UN-commissioned entity with a mandate to provide 100% culturally-neutral quizzes. Just don't take the quizzes you don't know anything about and move on.

	I'm outside the US and I still enjoyed the quiz. I just treated it as "name the least populated US states" and I got 7/8. I only missed Vermont -- probably because it's been in the news a fair bit so I assumed it's bigger than it is.

	@Dummo, the US population is over 304 million. I believe that is enough to warrant making a quiz about something they might/should know.

	@swellwrench, thank you. I couldn't have said it better myself. I don't know jack **** about the Premier League, but I don't go into those quizzes bitching and whining because they don't appeal to me. I just skip them and move on to the quizzes that do.

	@Hollywoodleo and @swellwrecnh. Absolutely agree. I'm from the UK, and sure I didn't KNOW the states, but I was able to get 5 by going with states which I knew must have smallish populations. There are plenty of quizzes for all on here.

	@ Dummo - It would be crazy if all quizes had to cater for everyone. Look at English counties, Swedish monarchs etc. I'm British and i like'd this one - 5/7, didn't look at the time limit d'oh! Nice one though.

	Dummo: "I'm not being disrespectful, but it's very frustrating with quizzes like this which are aimed at a severe minority." Um, what? Visitors to Sporcle.com are 71-75% American, according to Quantcast and Alexa, respectively. If any quizzes should be removed for being aimed at "a severe minority", it should be the "States of Austria" and "Monarchs of Sweden" quizzes and the like. (Not that I think they should).

	Another UK user here who treated it as "name the least populated US states" and thus had no problem with it...except to say another minute, or even 30 seconds, would have been good without making it too easy. :-)

	the incessant whining about the narrow nature of a quiz is tiresome. sadly, it feels like a troll is in our midst, but it appears most complainers actually believe it! presumably, this site was created by americans, so that is always where the bias will lie - get over it. you get plenty of "footballer" quizzes that few americans have the ability to answer, and trust me, that is just done to head off all the complaining that the quizzes are too usa-centric. I don't do the quizzes that don't interest me - please do the same. maybe come back in a few months when enough monarch quizzes have been stockpiled!

	Thank you Jon and all the Brits who acknowledge that it's not a cardinal sin to have quizzes like this one. Sure, it's hard for non-Americans. And a similar quiz about other countries would be difficult for Americans. We don't get much information about the inner workings of other countries. I doubt many Americans could name all the states of Mexico. And, since I know nothing about Premier League teams, I don't play those games. Maybe I'd have more of an interest in them, but we don't get those games here. So, how would I develop an interest or knowledge base?
