	There's no "u" in "Joan Osborne" and "Marc Cohn" is spelled with a "c" not a "k".

	"Proclaimers" are properly "The Proclaimers". While they only one hit in the US, they had half a dozen in the UK.

	I'm generally a big fan of being able to type in just the last name, but I'm not sure that "Something" should count for the band "Deep Blue Something." (Although I shouldn't complain, I guess, since I was trying to call them "Something Colored Blue".)

	@Ben: Yes, but the quiz title doesn't say "One-hit wonders in the US" -- it just says "One-hit wonders". Sporcle is an American site so it's always going to have more quizzes of interest to Americans that other people; that's fine. However, Sporcle also has a wide following outside the US and generic terms like "one hit wonder", "top 100 movies" and so on shouldn't be used if the quiz is actually restricted to things that happened in the US.

	I typed 95 South a couple times for "Whoomp There It Is" but didn't remember that 95 South sang "Whoot There It Is". They were probably as much a one-hit wonder as Tag Team.

	i think the list is fine. of course some people are going to know more songs from one band or another, but i think you can pretty much say these are all one hit wonders

	It's sad I knew 19 out of 20. But I dabbled in radio at the time. More on the Proclaimers: that song technically came out in 1988. Our college station had "I'm Gonna Be" and "I'm On My Way" in their rotation at the time. I know it charted in the U.S. in 1993 or 1994 because of its appearance in a movie, though.

	most of these aren't one hit wonders (at least in UK). The Proclaimers, The Verve, Lou Bega, Right Said Fred and Blind Melon; I can name numerous chart songs by all these.

	Whoomp there it is was actually simultaneously recorded by two bands: tag team and some group called I-95 out of florida. The tag team version was the hit version but i remember this for even in 8th grade I remembered how dumb this argument was.

	First: I feel old because these are college flashbacks. Second: Name the other songs that the Verve/Proclaimers/Lou Bega/Right Said Fred/ Blind Melon had that were hits in the US (I'm Sorry if you are from elsewhere, but in the US these were one hits. And you know who they were so you got them right anyhow.) Third: I never heard of the 69 Boyz and that name is awful. (69 is so 8th grade funny and pluralizing with a z is lame.) Fourth: Ben is cool (Go OSU)

	Now you're talking my language! I would define "One Hit Wonder" as one Top 40, usually Top 10. New Radicals only hit #37 with that song, despite it being their only one. Snow had another Top 20 ("Girl I've Been Hurt" got to #19, so wouldn't consider him). And even 69 Boyz had another Top 40 with "Woof Woof" a couple years after "Tootsee Roll".

	@chumley: I can't defend The Verve/ Proclaimers/ and Lou Bega as anything else other than one hit wonders IN THE US. I know that both the Verve and Proclaimers are very popular in other places (and the Verve/ Richard Ashcroft is extremely popular. Right Said Fred had a minor hit with the follow-up "Don't Talk, Just Kiss," which was nowhere near as popular as "I'm Too Sexy." Blind Melon, however, had two videos in heavy rotation on MTV (yes, there used to be videos on MTV) "Tones Of Home" and "3 Is The Magic Number" from the compilation "Schoolhouse Rocks Rocks!" Finally, Ben is cool, but I cannot tolerate anyone cheering for Ohio State.
