	It always makes me mad when people mix up hail and frost...I don't know why its just one of my things....Also, isn't there a "Frost" warning...I tried typing that it and it didn't come up so it may be the same thing as the Freeze warning but I guess its just a lingo difference. But I always knew it as a Frost Warning

	hail is generally covered under severe thunderstorm warnings. I've never seen a "hail warning," and I'm from Tornado Alley. Heavy Freezing Spray is most common in Alaska and the Great Lakes states, and has absolutely nothing to do with hail. the NWS does a lot more than just weather.

	@ElDavo: Hail storms and ice storms are't even remotely similar. Hail storms are lumps of ice falling out of the sky, resulting in the ground being covered in granules of ice. Ice storms are supercooled rain that falls as a liquid but freezes on impact, resulting in everything being covered in sheets of ice. Hail is rain that freezes on the way down; ice storms are rain that freezes when it lands.

	where I live we have the dreaded freezing rain...maybe in other parts of the world it has become freezing spray...and I agree, hail storms and ice storms are way,way different. Ice storms kill trees and freeze people

	UEAdam: Hurricane Force and Hurricane winds are where it's just the speed of the wind were the other factors of hurricanes aren't necessarily present (rains, flooding, etc). I don't know why they have two names for it though. For having things like Earthquakes and Law Enforcement alerts, it's just easier for one service to handle these warnings then for multiple ones to. It creates a standard and they already have all the tools available.

	I didnt know there were earthquake warnings, I thought all earthquake predictions were pretty vague and still pretty unreliable

	@UEAdam: `Hurricane force winds' are sustained winds of 74+ mph (or winds frequently gusting over 74mph) that are not part of an actual hurricane. I think `Hurricane wind' refers to hurricanes a long way inland where they're no longer sustained by energy from the sea but I'm not certain about that. Perhaps somebody else has more information?

	drought seems like an event which corresponds more with the weather than "civil danger" or "law enforcement"

	@davidr, when Ike came through we had "inland hurricane wind warnings," or something close to that, so that might be what the "hurricane wind" is referring to? @Tapestry, the NWS actually does issue warnings/advisories on earthquakes, and subsequently tsunamis.

	Some of these are fantastic . . . "be on the lookout for someone flying a red flag." Especially bad if they are doing it near a nuclear power plant and law enforcement officers are around. But my very favorite is a generic "Storm" which must be clearly distinguished from all the other specific storm types listed.

	Did not even occur to me to try geological disasters like earthquakes and volcanoes. On the other hand, I got everything winter-related. Can I have spring now?

	I've definitely seen fog and hail warnings. Also, the wind thing is out of hand. Combining all the winds into "Wind" would cut the number of things on this list in half. I think there should also have been godzilla warnings, alien invasions, mole people, zombies ahead, time stream changes, death rays, etc. At least as bonus answers. Isn't a Typhoon a hurricane in the west pacific? If distinct, shouldn't Cyclone (a hurricane in the indian ocean) also be on there? Interesting quiz, but seems inconsistent.
