| Carl, the new Browns aren't treated like an expansion team. According to the Browns' wikipedia page (which I know isn't a definitive source, but still), "Officially, the National Football League, Pro Football Hall of Fame, Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens all consider the current Browns team to be a continuation of the team founded in 1946." It's basically as if the Browns just ceased to exist for 5 years, instead of moving to a new city and replacing them with a brand new expansion team. But it's a moot point since the Browns of old or new have never won a title. |
