@God: I'm sorry that you might not share the love for hockey that many of us do but there is no reason to put hockey down just because it isn't your favorite sport.

I mean that some teams in the NHL lose and the NHL is for them as well as the winners. What is the point of a sport with no winners or losers?

I'm surprised the Devils never won a President's Cup with all their success over the last 2 decades.

Devils have finished 2nd or 3rd overall a lot. But the quiz makes a good point; most of the time, the President's Trophy winner doesn't go all the way, so maybe it's just as well.

God makes a good point. If there were no losers, how would we tell who the winners are?

@magister: The President's Trophy is awarded to the team with the most points at the end of the regular season. There isn't just one loser, every other team in the NHL would be in the loser column.

@Sam: So, you're saying that most of the people in the NHL are losers? I thought you liked hockey!
Sam

@magister: I'm saying that most of the teams lose in the race for the President's Trophy each year because there is only one winner out of 30 teams. And I don't just like hockey...I LOVE IT!!!

Picking the defending champs to win? So gutsy. And I got them all. Took me a while to get Boston for 89-90 but other than that pretty simple.

Intersting fact: Canada has hosted the Olympic games 3 times (Montreal '76, Calgary '88 and Vancouver '10) and all 3 times, the Olympic host city's NHL team finished 1st overall the following year (Canadiens '77, Flames '89 and Canucks '11).
