I was surprised Earl Campbell didn't make the list. Apparently, he was about 600 yards short.

This was my favorite quiz probably. How can you only miss Riggins? He's the best one! Redskin fan, by the way.

tim allen, i thought the same thing. campbell was a beast, but because of how he ran he didn't last very long, sadly.

I'm at least glad I got all four active players. NO excuse for missing Marcus Allen, and not really any excuse for missing Riggins, either. Never would have guessed Watters, and haven't heard of Anderson. By the way, is anybody elses backspace not working in these comment sections? Very frustrating.

Dead pleased to get four of them in total dredged from my teenage memory (when this sport was quite big in England). Walter is still the star really though isn't he? I'm better on Cricket & Soccer (the football you actually use your foot with)

You can't claim any player as "the star," really. Especially when they aren't playing anymore. Also, it's not called football because it's played with the feet. It's called football because from tip to tip the ball is... well, I'm sure you can guess how long the ball is.

OJ Simpson is still adding rushing totals to his prison football league. OJ and Michael Vick are on a team filming "The Longest Yard 2"

uhhh... the comment about walter payton still being the star? is that a bad joke? i hope it means you just haven't kept up with football for like ten years-ish. kevin, my backspace is also not working, and it is terribly frustrating.

lol@someone who retired 21 years ago "still being the star" Tomlinson fits that role now. (Although he's been injured this year)

Jamal Lewis being marked non-active is my favorite part of this quiz. When you watch him play nowadays, you believe it.

Look for him after his sixth year, most likely. 10,000 is a lot of yards.

If Peterson stays active and productive he will be on here. But remember, this list is as much a tribute to staying healthy as being a good runner. Guys like Gale sayers and Terrel Davis were great runners, but they couldn't stay healthy. At least face it, if they did both would be on here. Would you want a Sayers or Dunn if both were healthy, no knock on Dunn as hes a great player, but Sayers was a legend.
