| Most QB's (that trend seems to have died out more recently) average over 15 INTS in their first few years in the league. Peyton Manning I think averaged 18 or so for his first 4 years in the league. McNabb threw plenty, Eli, Jay Cutler is in the middle of that phase. Drew Brees when he was in San Diego looked like he was heading the way of a late first round QB gone bad (even though he was early 2nd round) like Rex Grossman, Kyle Boller and others. The problem with railing on a guy like Kitna was that he had a pretty good year in Cincy even despite throwing a high number of interceptions. The way Kitna played while Palmer was on the bench reminds me of the way Matt Schaub plays in Houston; high volume stats in all categories, including TDs, INTS, sacks, yardage, etc. |
