Providence College? DePaul? Are those real universities?! Love this quiz, but the obscure "Big East" schools makes it about impossible. If they don't play football in the Big East then they certainly don't count in my book.

I agree. At least rename the quiz to NCAA College Team Names (Basketball).

Sorry, but the Big East was basketball FIRST, and it shouldn't be asking too much of you to know some basic college basketball. If you want to criticize the quiz, maybe it should be because the MAC or other conferences were left out.

big east is right now one of the best conferences in basketball and this is "clearly" a basketball quiz, hence villanova, georgetown.....

need 1 with smaller conferences. this was 2 easy. thought about missing Redmen and Warriors on purpose just on principle.

Fun quiz. Can't believe I got them all. I'm not even a big college sports fan. Then again, maybe I am and I don't know it, lol.

73/73, 5:39 left. Great quiz...obviously focused on the CBB scene. Yeah, DePaul really sucks and that took me probably 3 of the minutes to think of.

Since Notre Dame doesn't play football in the Big East, they should be clearly left out of the list by MJ's logic.

The schools seem listed in odd ways. For Pac 10, for instance, it should just say Arizona, Arizona State, California, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Washington, Washington State rather than the longer names. It's weird to see North Carolina referred to as "UNC at Chapel Hill" - in sports contexts it's always just "North Carolina".

Yeah they took the official names I guess - more often seen in academics than athletics.

Whenever I didn't know one i just added the word "golden" to the name since it worked for UCLA, Marquette and Minnesota.

the Big East was tough because unlike the other conferences a lot of those schools are basketball-only. It was also tough that it forced the colors in there - I kept thinking of Cal as the Bears, but it'd only accept Golden Bears. Really enjoyed this one.

all 73 with 6:19 left to spare. Pac 10 was the hardest for me, because I don't particularly care for that conference.

@Esteban, just like every March, huh? @johnlk, yeah, it's "North Carolina" or just "Carolina" everywhere outside of the state, but if you're ever in Chapel Hill they will make you spell that sucker out all the way to the end.

all 73 with 6:27 to spare, vandy was my last one, I went in order. If you're in chapel hill we won't make you spell it out. It's just identified that way cause there are 12 other UNC's throughout the state

@bsd987 LSU might should be the "Bengal Tigers," but "Fighting Tigers" isn't the way they are normally referred to. I question the adjectives on some other teams -- Fighting Illini, Golden Gophers, Golden Bears, etc. Maybe those are their official names, but they are sometimes called simply Illini, Gophers, Bears. . . .

The Big East was fairly tricky since I'm more of a College Football guy and the Big East is a Basketball conference. Still got all 73 though. Fun quiz!

great quiz I would have just loved to seen the MAC and the WAC included I know there not quite as big but they both play football and basketball so no reason why they shouldnt get respect. Great quiz missed one should have remembered the hoyas.

@ MattyD: I am pretty sure NC is not the only university system to have >10 schools. Wisconsin has 26 schools go by University of Wisconsin-xxxxxx. Illinois has 3 U of I's and Michigan...the list goes on and on and on. Are you gonna call them UW-Madison, UI at Urbana-Champaign and UM-Ann Arbor in sports? Hell UC Berkeley is always called California in sports context even though there are 10 four-years UC campuses. Anyway this quiz is bizarre. Only the 6 BCS AQ conferences are listed here while all schools in those conferences, FBS or not, are included.

LSU's official nickname is "Fightin' Tigers." Of course, this is used just about as much as "Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College" is used.

I couldn't remember Marquette's new name because I still think of them as the Warriors. Interesting that you have Colorado in the Pac 10 while Nebraska is still in the Big 12.
