Working at the school that has the court named after Branch McCracken is the only way I was one of the 2.3% :). In fact, I'm impressed that many people got him right.

c'mon, Quimby, there's only been two guys to win a championship at that school. And...as much as I like him...I don't forsee a third anytime soon...

You could have given me an hour and I wouldn't have gotten any of the last four.

I'm kinda surprised more people didn't get Henry Iba. Maybe it's because I'm a Big 12 fan, so I always see the Oklahoma State games played in Gallagher-Iba Arena. In addition to a long career at Okie State (Oklahoma A&M at the time), he is the longest-tenured coach of the USA Olympic team. He was the coach when Russia got it's controversial win.

don't mean to be picky here, but how John Wooden is not number 1 is absolutely beyond me.

After seeing the 3 I missed and the percentage of people who got them, I don't feel so bad about missing them. Love quizzes like this though. I'm with Clint though on Hank Iba. I guess I've just heard his name enough on ESPN telecasts.

You can add either Bill Self or Jim Boeheim to this list in about a month.

a couple comments: 1) very upset that you accept "Coach K" since I learned how to spell his name specifically for sporcle quizzes, 2) feel stupid that I didn't get Calhoun, 3) shocked Eddie Sutton was not on this list, and 4) even more shocked when I looked it up and he never won a single NCAA championship.

I may be wrong, but what about Nolan Richardson? I thought they won back to back 93-94.

@klap: Richardson won in 93, but lost the next year to UCLA. But I thought Izzo had won it twice.

ClinT: I'm ashamed to admit it, but I sat here wracking my brains trying to remember Iba's name. I could see him, could remember a picture of him and Bob Knight sitting together, I even remember watching him coach UTEP...and yet I couldn't dredge his name up from the depths of my memory.

a small part of me was hoping you'd accept "Bill Russell" in place of Phil Woolpert, since, let's be honest, Russell was about 99.9% of the reason Woolpert is on this list.

@klap and @Joker: Richardson won with Arkansas in '94 and was runner-up in '95. Izzo's been to 5 Final Fours, but only has one championship (won in 2000, runner-up last year).

You mean it took "Coach K"? and here I took 4 minutes to finally spell Sheshefsky right... Of course, I would have sworn that Brown, Pitino, Tark, and the McGuires all had more than ONE!

I'm with cjm...I knew Russell had won back to back titles at Frisco. Had no idea whatsoever who the coach was.

I got 11. I knew the schools that they all had won them at. But I couldn't remember for the life of me Woopert's name. I also knew the Cincy coach started with J. But I couldn't remember the exact name. I tried a few names that I vaguely remembered it sounding similar to. But I couldn't come up with Jucker.

3 and up, no problem. Did have a problem with most of the 2s. If any of you are interested in my mnemonic device for remembering Krzyzewski's name... "CRAZY" with a "K" but no "A" Followed by ZEWSKI.
