If I remember correctly.. and maybe I don't... wasn't there like 4 players per team and you could select the 2 that you wanted each quarter? Maybe that came in later versions...

Greatest quiz ever!! 42/54, kept getting the names mixed up with the SNES version. Could've swore Jimmy Jackson and Alonzo Mourning were in the arcade version.

upon further review, my edition of the proposed quiz was better, as it accepted alternate answers since there were differences between the arcade release and the snes release, and it also included bonus answers such as both clintons (bill and pfunk). cmon sporcle, this coulda been implemented in a much better fashion.

actually i'm pretty sure they tell you they won't necessarily be able to give credit to everybody who makes a suggestion, because so many people use the feedback.

I'm starting to regret my owning College Slam instead of NBA Jam. It was basically NBA Jam minus names.

I was a little disappointed to find out that this was the arcade version and not NBA Jam T.E, but it's still a good quiz. A T.E. quiz would make my life significantly better, which is kind of sad.

"big dog" robinson broke out this year, but I guess he wouldn't have been in a game until next year. BIG DOG! How did 3/4 of people not get the reigning 6th Man of the Year, Detlef Schrempf? Come on guys, let's get it together.

@Camden... WORD. For some reason I thought it was Jack Sikma instead of Lohaus. I can't spell Daughtery to save my life. Has anyone heard the names Kendall Gill (89 Illini!) or Jeff Hornacek this decade?! Got a fair 36/54. I remember the SNES version sucking and the Sega version pwning for two reasons: usage of unnecessary passwords and ability to shoot the full-court desperation 3.

you could only pick your players on the snes and the sega ben. how bad were the bucks, wolves, and the kings back in the day? the more things change, the more they stay the same.

@ let.it.go......Kendall Gill does Pre/Halftime/Post-games shows for the Chicago Bulls on Comcast Sportsnet. I always watch it but still don't remeber him being in the game. I'm more recently have played NBA Hangtime (N64 version) cause my SNES hasn't worked since around '97. Loved this quiz though

First off, this is a f***ing AWESOME quiz. I loooove it. Second, I didn't do all that great- got exactly half, missed some really easy ones (Barkley, Isiah)- but I'm OK with that because the quiz was so cool. Third, who in the hell was Mike Iuzzolino? I have literally never heard of him, and that's pretty impressive.

A number of you guys are forgetting the fact that many NBA stars wouldn't let NBA Jam put them in the game because they wanted (more) money. Jordan is the main case; I believe this is the story behind Payton's exclusion as well.

Oh, and a comment to let.it.go: I think of Hornacek each and every time I see someone do a well-practiced free throw routine. *Swoops hand across forehead to brush hair, then swishes a free throw*

@ DerKomissar: I'm pretty sure Jordan had his own special contract where he could only be featured in his own games, like Bulls Vs. Blazers and whatever-the-hell that other one was called where he had basketballs made of fire and ice...

@J.A.H.D.G.: It's because certain players opted out of the Players Association. This gave them the right to negotiate their own terms.

Who handles the ball for the Knicks? Sonics? In this group: 4 NBA head coaches (1 WNBA coach), 4 TV analysts for the NBA (1 analyst for NASCAR)... Johnson and Augmon played together in college. So did Smith and Daugherty, Drexler and Olajuwon, Tisdale and Harvey Grant, Seikaly and Coleman... 2 are no longer living.
