That Shaq has 5,000 free throws made sure shows how often he's hacked

I'm pretty sure he's missed 5,000 as well

I think Shaq is second in missed free throws - behind only Chamberlain. He's closing in on 5000 misses, but I don't think he's there yet.

I thought Shaq went through 5,000 in the last week or so? Either way, he's bloody terrible at them.

The guy with 5356 retired in 1984, not 1974. Otherwise, that'd be reeeeeeeally impressive!

Yeah, definitely not a six year career... I feel like such a loon. I'm 19, I got Paul Arizin...and I missed Kobe Bryant.

Shaq missed his 5,000 free throw a couple of weeks ago which is when I got the idea for the quiz.

I put Shaq in as a joke not thinking he would actually show up. Wow.

Shaq should ahve worked on his free throws before entering in the NBA, he would have a chance to be the all-time free throws made because he gets fouled all of the time

Missed 5394, 5079 (never would've crossed my mind), and 5066. Not a tough quiz if you just remember the all-time scoring leaders :-)

Local L.A. Shaq joke: The L.A. Live entertainment/restaurant/sports complex next to the Staples Center is constructed of all the bricks that Shaq has thrown. ;->

Karl Malone used to be prettty horrid at the line early in his career too. Almost Shaq-esque. Yet he still leads this quiz by a long way. Impressive.

"The guy with 5356 retired in 1984, not 1974" You are 100% correct. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elvin_Hayes

@J Lopp If Shaq worked on his FTs he would be good at 'em and not get fouled as much

I love how 1,200 people have gotten Karl Malone without getting Moses Malone. Last names only, people. Do yourselves a favor.

If Sporcle has taught me anything, it's to always guess Bob Pettit. ps. Pierce should be added to this list.

ray doesn't shoot that many ft's...he's one of the all time greats in ft% though....pierce should be on there, dirk will get there soon, needs 90 as of yesterday. im really surprised alex english isn't on there....chet walker, that's a tough one even though he's a good scorer, one of only 2 bulls other than mj to score 50 in a game, still i wouldve never wouldve guessed him

Good quiz. There's a typo in the years for elvin hayes. He should be 68-84. It would have been hard for him to get that many in just 7 seasons!

Also, Shaq retired. So if you want to keep up with recent events, you should change it.

Alcindor is not accepted because his name is KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR. Will people ever stop complaining about that? I don't get it, am I alone here??

A couple things I'd like to say; 1. I type in Alcindor because it's easier than Abdul Jabbar, and 2. I'm utterly shocked that Alex English is not up there.
