Somehow the Mad Dog Mark Madsen has used his Stanford education to convince NBA teams to keep him on a roster...pretty good use of his education if you ask me

Got 17 that I actually knew before I started guessing a bunch of colleges. Ended up with 34/40.

The quiz would work better if you had to answer them one-by-one. As is, it's too easy to simply name a bunch of colleges (in fact, just name a bunch of states) and get a lot that you don't know.

Great idea for a quiz (though naming it one-by-one would probably make it better). I would absolutely love if they had an NFL version(s) as well.

You went with Stevie Franchise for my beloved school? Why not someone who played there for more than a year like Joe Smith or Juan Dixon or Steve Blake or John Lucas.

As much as I dislike UConn, they are a glaring omission. Gordon, Butler, Okafor, Hamilton, Ray Allen, the great Jake Voskuil.....

Yeah, I was shocked that no guys from UF were there since they're a lot in the NBA right now (David Lee, Al Horford, Matt Bonner, Joakim Noah) and nobody from Kentucky? Wow... (PS - Given Iverson's antics this year, please replace with Ewing and given Marbury's antics EVERY year, let's go with my boy, Mark Price)

@john: I don't think the point of the quiz was to name all the great feeder schools. It's more a quiz on what schools did this selection of players attend. However, Ben, how 'bout a quiz on what schools have produced the most all-stars?

I get North Carolina by typing UNC. I get Massachusetts by typing UMass. Why don't I get Rhode Island by typing URI?

This was cool, but if there's another, I'd like to see more schools that legendary players went to that you might not think of- like Stockton at Gonzaga and Olajuwon at Houston, you've got guys such as David Robinson (Navy), Bill Russell (San Francisco) Karl Malone (Louisiana Tech), Walt Frazier (Southern Illinois), Willis Reed (Grambling), etc. Hell, you could even include some goofy ones, like Manute Bol (University of Bridgeport) and the late Hank Gathers (Loyola Marymount). Sure, this is a great idea for a quiz, but as others have said, you can still get most of them by just guessing states and big colleges. (An aside: I couldn't disagree more with people complaining about a particular school missing- there's no rule saying you have to include every school with a good basketball program.)

Great quiz - I've been waiting for this one. Ben is, as usual, the man. Danny Granger also attended Bradley, although he went from New Mexico to the NBA.

How in the hell is UConn not listed? They have arguably the greatest players than any school in the NBA right now. Ray Allen, Caron Butler, Richard Hamilton, Emeka Okafor, Rudy Gay, Ben Gordon, and Charlie Villanueva. Ridiculous

Danny Granger attended Bradley University before he transferred to New Mexico...so that should technically be an acceptable answer as well

Great quiz. I agree it should require you guess them individually, though, as should be the case for any game of this structure.

Another vote for URI to count. IMHO initials/abbreviations should be accepted when they are in common usage and understood to refer to such school. If I said I went to WVU, that wouldn't be recognized as West Virginia, so that should not be accepter (for example) but URI is always recognized as Rhode Island (at least around here). Same would go for LSU/Louisiana State vs PSU/Penn State.

More good/tough ones for part II (without the answers): Earl Boykins, Ben Wallace, Vin Baker, Robert Parish, Larry Bird, Scottie Pippen, Derek Fisher, Dennis Rodman, Joe Dumars, Tim Hardaway, Erik Dampier, Ed Pinckney, Karl Malone, Elgin Baylor, Jason Kidd, Greg Anthony, Hersey Hawkins, Linus Klieza, Bob Cousy...

I request lots more, including many football versions as well. Also agreeing on the suggestion of guessing what schools have produced the most all stars, and maybe even quizzes where Sporcle names a school and we name all the NBA all stars (or NFL pro bowlers) they have produced.

I know I'm going to get minuses for this but it has to be said, as much as possible, UConn has to be up here. It has the most current players in the NBA, 13: Allen, Armstrong, Boone, Butler, Gay, Gordon, Hamilton, Marshall, Okafor, Ollie, Villanueva, Voskuhl, Williams. You choose, Ben.

27/40 just from guessing DI schools. I agree with Kicking222, using more obscure alma maters would help the quiz.

Great game, but I think they should have to be named in order so people cant just keep typing in a bunch of random schools. Jus my opinion. Please do a part 2.
