I feel like gassing should work for asphyxiation, and dammit, I would have answered them all.

BHW: Narcotics generally refer to drugs (drug overdose, effect to the body), while poison refers to toxic substances (i.e. - lacing food with poison). As for asphyxiation (the only one I missed), I even tried 'suffocation', 'gassing', 'choking' and 'lack of oxygen'. Really, how much closer can you get?

Got all of them apart from 'Asphyxiation'. I agree that suffocation, etc should work as well. =/

i agree with angela. i typed "blunt object" and was shocked that nothing came up...i think the singular form should be accepted.

...I typed in "bare hands" without typing in just "hands" and only realize my stupid mistake a minute later. I guess my thinking was that you wouldn't say "Brock Samson kills henchmen with his hands", you'd say "Brock Samson kills henchmen with his BARE hands".

is there a page on the fbi stats that defines what constitutes narcotics vs. poison? I don't understand how narcotics can qualify as murder and not be poison. Were they force fed the narcotics or what? Also surprised that 'car' didn't make the list of weapons.

I would have thought strangulation and asphyxiation would overlap anyway. Technically any act of strangulation IS/ RESULTS IN asphyxiation, and therefore they should either A) only include asphyxiation (and leave out strangulation as a separate answer) or B) include 'smothering' and 'strangulation' as separate answers and get rid of the term asphyxiation completely

I probably didn't explain that too well but strangling is an act, asphyxiation is the result. So they should either include 'strangling' and 'smothering' as separate answers or just 'asphyxiation' in general as one answer.

How many cases of somebody being put into a room then having the door deleted and the person left to starve occur every year? Or did you prefer to kill your Sim with cooking/repairing without skill or stranding it in the swimming pool?

smothering, suffocation, choking should all count. I used google to check my spelling on Asphyxiation and it said 'exfixiation,' though I don't know about that. :P Still, 'choking' would be a nice fix for the people who don't watch a lot of L&O. Also I figured poison meant using some chemical/substance to kill someone but Narcotics is separate, that's weird but I guess you get the info elsewhere so whatevs. :) Good quiz.

What's the difference between 'Strangulation' and 'Asphyxiation'? My dictionary won't answer me on that one ;_;. Anyway, I got 8 + 1 bonus (missed asphyxiation and fire)

@Rzeziol: Strangulation is compression of the neck, which causes death by asphyxia, by stopping blood reaching the brain or both.

got all 10 +1....but it involved a whole lot of failed attempts....got desperate in trying to get my last one(drowning)...trained dog attack (well it happened in an old episode of Columbo!)...hypnotising someone into commiting suicide (I watch way too much rubbish TV!)...scaring someone to death (I think that was in a Poirot!)...

The distinction between narcotics and poison is one of intent. If you give somebody narcotics and they die, things went wrong; if you give somebody poison and they die, things went right. The FBI's pages say that they include manslaughter by gross negligence in the stats so I'm guessing that getting high with somebody who overdoses might count under that, especially if you were injecting it into them and/or you supplied the drugs. Or hitting them over the head with a really big bag of crack. Or would that be `blunt object'?

Tried 'Blunt Instrument'. Nothing. Tried 'Heavy Object'. Nothing. Tried 'Hitting someone with something'. Nothing. Tried 'Candlestick'. Got it!
