Does Cloverfield really count as a disaster movie? I mean, it's more alien invasion

You know, for "1997, Pierce Brosnan", I'd argue that "Tomorrow Never Dies" was a disaster in and of itself.

Agreed with above comment about Cloverfield. If Cloverfield counts, so should Godzilla (which I guessed).

Knowing was a very depressing movie, IMO.

I agree on the Cloverfield part only on account of I tried like 17 other alien invasion movies haha. &73% for Titanic??? I find that hard to believe more people don't know that..

I'm also a little suspicious of 9/11 movies counting as disaster movies. I'd argue that WTC a much different genre than something ridiculous like Volcano.

Mike: Not "Adaptation." or "Matchstick Men" or "Leaving Las Vegas."

Almost, Mike, almost. Raising Arizona and Adaptation are pretty good, but sometimes you do wonder if he can say no to a role. And just to be picky, according to IMDB the first Cage movie in the quiz was released in 2006 not 2007. Ghost Rider was his disaster movie of 2007.

In an effort to avoid disaster, we have removed Cloverfield and added another movie

I saw George C. Scott was the star and I thought his disaster movie was "Football in the Groin".

I only got six right, but when I clicked to see the most missed list, it showed that I guessed the Core and Daylight, but missed Dante's Peak and The Day After Tomorrow, when the opposite was true

Yes, the results are showing up wrong for me too. I got several it says I didn't get and didn't get some it says I did.

Yeah, there's some errors in the results display. Also, "Cloverfield" is still in the quiz and "Airport" shows in the answers but not the clues.

My point was that when sporcle asked for suggestions, they said to leave out Alien Invasion type movies, and that is most definitely what Cloverfield is, so it doesn't belong

OK, why all the hatred of the amazing actor Nicolas Cage? The guy does a hell of a job. Con Air, Next, Nat. Treasure 1 + 2, Gone in 60 seconds, The Rock (With the immortal Sean Connery), Ghost Rider, and plenty more I'm forgetting.

I personally like how Nicolas Cage is misspelt directly under where it's spelt correctly. LOL

I don't think that Jane Fonda movie really qualifies as a disaster movie. Nothing actually happens as in the other movies. Might as well include all movies everywhere where disaster / terrorism looms but fails to occur.
