	Fatbeard, I think you're thinking of the quiz for actors and actresses with the most nominations. Before I made the quiz (which was only yesterday- amazing turnaround time!), I thought of the exact same one. Anyway, I hope everybody has a good time with this one- I can't remember all of them, and I looked at the list in the past twelve hours or so.

	I was hoping I'd end up getting some self-pity by missing some by misspelling "Zhivago" or something like that, but I'm now kicking myself for somehow misspelling "Emperor." And to add on to NickGass's point, it was also the year where Joel Grey beat out Pacino/Caan/Duvall. Hm.

	Only got 7, the first five plus Dances With Wolves and On the Waterfront. Worst part is I've only seen five of those movies. Always try to make time to see some of the old classics and never get around to it.

	@John2: The Godfather, while the greatest movie ever made (in America, to avoid a lot of arguments), is logically not on this list. It only won three (Picture, Actor, Adapted Screenplay), and probably only had a legit claim at a few more (perhaps Supporting Actor and Director). Most of the movies on this list are visually spectacular movies high on special effects, and The Godfather and many other movies not on this list that are extremely highly regarded (Citizen Kane, Casablanca, et al) are very much story-based and therefore have a relatively limited range of even possible Oscars.

	Surprised that none of the three movies to sweep the "big" categories - Actor, Actress, Director, Screenplay, and Picture - aren't on here. (Silence of the Lambs, Cuckoo's Nest, It Happened One Night.) I guess none of those would really qualify for the technical awards you need to pad the numbers.

	@Tapestry: You're strongly confusing "movies that are great" with "movies [you] love". The films on the list are all outstanding, whether anyone here particularly likes them or not. You'd be hard-pressed, for example, to find a musicals buff who wouldn't call "West Side Story" and "Cabaret" two of the best six-to-eight musicals ever made. Personally, I'm not a "Lord of the Rings" guy, but I can respect the films (though the Oscar for Best Song was completely ridiculous- the other four songs were all spectacular, the Annie Lennox track was atrocious). You can say these films weren't your thing, but they're surely all great movies.

	How anyone can call Lawrence of Arabia a film that isn't "anything to write home about" is mind boggling to me.

	2003 produced the best film out the entire lot. Slumdog only won so many due to the racism capaigns that are fielding the world, which ruins the awards, as it is a poor film. 1993 is a top film as well, a type of film that you watch in complete awe. I'm glad I didn't ball it when I watched it in school

	"West Side Story" and "My Fair Lady" and "Cabaret" most certainly are movies "to write home about". Same with "Gone with the Wind" and "Bridge on the River Kwai" and "Patton" and "Schindler's List" and "The Last Emperor"... They may not be your cup of tea, but they're most definitely great films.
