This quiz is pretty difficult since a lot of these players never make it to the majors. I'm lucky just to get 10 right.

Actually most of them make the majors. They just turn out not to live up to the hype.

So far 86 quiz takers and I'm the only one to get Blomberg, Horner and Clyde!

If you know the "Homer at the Bat" song posted earlier this year then you're going to get at least two! I finished with a grand total of ... 2.

Only Chilcott and Taylor never made it to the majors and Taylor went down due to injury. Matt Bush may be heading down the same path.

Wow I got two of the most obvious ones and that was it. The majority of these guys are nobodies. Then its just a bunch of so-so's.

Most are not nobodies. Just eyeballing it, I'd say half have been All-Stars.

8/44...stellar, lol. Man, so many busts on this list. Very few of these guys turn out to be as good as advertised.

tough quiz but a good one and of course there are all the players who would have been #1 but for unreasonable contract demands guys like Drew, Van Poppel, Wood, Beckett, etc...all those guys were passed over by teams that likely would have taken them had they thought they could sign them.

It just goes to show how difficult it is to pick talent in an MLB draft. Most teams would be wise to use their high picks on college players only, but even the college game is fairly dissimilar to the pro game (wood vs non-wood bats being the main difference). Not to mention that a large portion of the talent pool (non-Americans) aren't included in the draft. That's why they seem to cut a round or two from the draft every few years.

Jeremy: Beckett was not passed over for contract demands. He was passed over because Tampa management thought he was an **** and that Josh Hamilton was respectful. /// Bretzky: If you only picked college players, you would have missed out on the best players on this list: A-Rod, Griffey, C. Jones

Baseball is also tough to judge (especially when evaluating hitters) because of the change in pitch speed from one level to the next. Some guys who were great in HS just can't catch up to major league pitching on a consistent basis. The bat speed simply isn't there.

@Nuclear Knuckles - Also, position players are considered somewhat safer bets than pitchers. But yeah, 'twas an ironic decision that lead Tampa to take Hamilton.

I got 26 and missed the easiest one, amazing. Without even thinking I tried Roger Salkeld, who was a 1st round pick a couple years prior for the Mariners, then never went back to it

@ Chiptaco: 5 HOF careers? Griffey, A-Rod, and maybe Chipper Jones. Who else are you saying is a HOFer? Maybe Mauer someday but no wear near close yet. All the younger guys it is waaaay too early to decide on. Baines? No. Dunston? No. Strawberry? No. I will give you 2 1/2 because Chipper is still a maybe, but I definitely don't see 5.

I think Chipper Jones is a pretty safe bet. He had eight seasons in a row with 100+ RBI. He's got a .310 career average (which has gone UP the last few years despite his age), and a .408 career OBP. His career OPS+ is 145, which is only 2 less than Alex Rodriguez' career OPS+ (yeah, I know, steroids, but you can't deny the fact that he posted amazing numbers).

I've played this several times... has anyone noticed that when results are revealed, there are duplicates in the early years (i.e. Goodwin or Roberts)?

@Ace:Goodwin is the only one to have actually been drafted number one twice. He did not sign the first time. I got 17. If I had taken this at the time of the draft, I would have done better.
