Carl Crawford's catch was amazing. And Soriano played for Texas..? And by the way Sam, thank you for accepting "Yaz" for Yastrzemski.

Ya I totally forgot Soriano was a Ranger for a few years. If it was for the Yankees or Cubs I probably would ave gotten him.

35 right, not bad. Never heard of John Matlack, Leon Wagner or Johnny Callison, probably should have gotten the rest.

Julio Franco in 1990? Wow. I know he was around for ages but wow... I didn't know he was an all-star. Man, this guy is awesome.

What does it say about the relevance of the All-Star Game MVP that only 8.6% remember the perennial all-star who won it five years ago? Still a fun quiz though, even if it essentially devolves into "Guess Good Players from These Teams This Year."

Franco had already been around for many years by 1990.

Adam Jones shoulda won the MVP. I guess the go ahead RBI isn't good enough.

@Mr. Negative: Agreed. Also, as an O's fan, I couldn't help but think that Jones would have had a chance at that catch if he had been playing his natural position, center. It was still an incredible catch by Crawford, though.

no way, granderson should have won the mvp. triple, go-ahead run. nice hit and great hustle.

Wow, a fly out. I think that even Bucky LaGrange, the no-armed baseball player, could have flied out. Granderson absolutely should have been MVP.

franco was the first guy I said. I vividly remember that all star game, he was the rangers only rep and came on as a late sub.

Ok I can agree with Granderson, although his triple was a result of lazy/bad fielding.

A sac fly shouldn't win the MVP, nor should a routine catch in left. He barely jumped off the ground to catch that. Granderson should have gotten it hands down.

AS MVP is a fun game that I was glad to see. It is a dumb award to argue over since the playing time is limited for so many guys. The one I would argue over was last year's award not going to George Sherill. How one enters the game with the sacks full, strikes out the side, and then goes for another inning+ to preserve Kazmir, and ISN'T the most valuable is beyond me.

It's amazing how the left side of this quiz is almost all NL players, and the right side is almost all AL players lol

I also can agree with Granderson. At one point, I was worried that they were going to give it to Rivera as some kind of "lifetime achievement" MVP. Ugh.

I got more on the left side than the right... probably because I worked for ESPN Classic for several years. Also, Terry Steinbach was like my NINTH guess of players on the '88 A's... man that team was loaded.

I got Johnny Callison! The late Dick Radatz used to host a talk show in Boston, and every now and then someone would bring up the home run he gave up to Callison in the bottom of the ninth during the 1964 All Star game. Surprisingly hard - I can't believe I left out JD Drew.

Ichiro is his given name and is accepted. Suzuki is his family name. Family name first is primarily Chinese.
