Yeah, I'm gonna say this before this game possibly gets released: you canNOT include "DIVERSE" in "find the words in DIVERSE". If you want to count it as a bonus, fine, but in no way should that be an actual answer. That's like including a crossword answer in its clue- you just can't do it. Also, I'd tack on another minute- I got two words right at the end, and I still missed a bunch of simpler ones (DIVES, RESIDE, DERIVE, others). Otherwise... hell, if there was one of these every day, I'd be giddy as a schoolgirl.

Agree with kicking, having diverse there is pretty cheap, and any number of these would make me happy. I love the concept. Surprised they cut it off at 5 letters though, but i guess with 'r', 's', and 'd', there are a loooooot of options

Half these words aren't even real words. Drees? What's that? Eiders? Never heard of ya. Viseed? Are you kidding me? Come on, Sporacle. Come up with some real words, then I'll play.

Eider *is* a real word. It's a type of bird - maybe some kind of duck or goose.

Hint for everyone complaining about word choice: They are SCRABBLE words, not regular words. For example, the word za is short for pizza in scrabble, but is never heard of anywhere, or at least that I know.

@Kicking222: It's like Scrabble -- if you happen to be dealt a 'D','I','V','E','R','S', and 'E', you can most certainly play it as "DIVERSE." That's the rules and keeping diverse off wouldn't make any sense. Yeah, it's a cheap point, but valid. Either way, it's only one answer, so how much does it matter?

@juviejay - 1st off it is Sporcle, second, take it up with the source or scrabble or, jeez I dunno the dictionary. as for diverse, it is a damned if you do or damned if you don't - diverse is a 7 letter word so what are ya gonna do?

Yay, got 21! I definitely agree with Kicking about "diverse"—it shouldn't be included in there. (maybe I'm just saying that because I didn't, ha! but less than 40% did, so I think that's reasonable..)

No, it doesn't say "what can you play in Scrabble using these letters" it says "name words that can be made from the word diverse." It IS the word diverse. That's like going outside, finding a tree, and saying you turned it into a tree. That doesn't make sense and diverse shouldn't be one of the answers.

To those complaining about Diverse: This is classic set logic. When enumerating the subsets of a set, the original set is always included. There's no reason for this to be different. You can, most certainly, make the word "diverse" out of the letters in the word "diverse". That it's trivial changes nothing.

While I was playing this quiz, the screen was continually updated to show me how many "points" I had scored (where a seven-letter word is worth 11 points, or something like that, and a six-letter word is worth some other amount of points, etc.). The results page (www.blahblahblahresults.php) does not even tell me what my point total was; nor does it tell me how that total compares to the totals of other people. The results page DOES show me how many words I entered. I would hope that for a quiz that shows "points" while the player is playing, the results page could show me not only how I rank against other players in terms of the raw number of WORDS that were entered in the allotted time, but also show me how I rank against other players in terms of the POINTS that were earned in the allotted time.

@MRL, I understand what you're saying, but the phrasing of the title is relevant. "..words that can bemade from the word DIVERSE". You're not making a word if you just retype diverse. You're just taking what's given to you

If you're going to algebra, I'll go to physics. If your start and end points are the same, you have done no work. If you start with diverse and end with diverse, you haven't made anything, so it shouldn't count as "made from the word diverse".

@ MRL: Then where is the answer 'sporcle' on the other quiz...i understand your argument and i know sporcle isn't an actual word, but it isn't even a bonus answer on the other one; they ignore the set rule you're using in mathematical reasoning...why do it one way on one quiz and another on the same style of quiz?

OH COME ONE! Diverse?! DIVERSE? Who counts the actual word as something you can spell with the letters in it? I mean, ya, technically that IS a valid answer, but I have never once seen that before.

I would have loved to see the "Results" chart based on points scored (out of 363) rather than words found (out of 44). I was concentrating on the "big point" words. (But all I got was "DIVERSE".

Kind of crazy that more people got "RESIDE" than "RESID" considering you have to spell the latter to get the former.

About deers, deers is a word and it's actually a different type of plural than "deer" itself. Deer of the same species in a group would be pluralized as "deer", but if there are different species of deer, biologists would refer to them as "deers". It's the same way with fish having the plural "fishes", e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fishes_of_the_World
