4 minutes? Way too much time...
Dec 11th, 2008 at 18:47 GMT
I missed Robert Trujillo and Ron McGovney. I'd never even heard of Ron honestly, heh.
Dec 11th, 2008 at 19:33 GMT
it should say Vocals/Rhythm Guitar for James
Dec 11th, 2008 at 19:34 GMT
should do this with RHCP.
Dec 11th, 2008 at 21:30 GMT
should do this with spinal tap
Dec 11th, 2008 at 22:24 GMT
You could do this as a quiz. using only current members of bands. do bands such as the who, rolling stones, the eagles, rhcp, gnr, and others.
Dec 11th, 2008 at 23:29 GMT
:18 seconds. love this quiz! Aerosmith and Skynyrd would be good bands for this, too!

If they wanted a REAL challenge, do this with Black Sabbath.
Dec 12th, 2008 at 03:22 GMT
Very cool with the bonus in there!
Dec 13th, 2008 at 16:23 GMT
I wouldn't have got any of these were it not for the fact that my brother is a fan!

Wasn't Dave Mustaine with Megadeth?
Jan 27th, 2009 at 20:51 GMT
next to Guns N Roses
Jan 31st, 2009 at 06:15 GMT
Ron Mcgovney was a hard one to remember, he was only with metalica during their formation. Cliff joined the band and the ousted Ron before their first album was recorded. good one though, METALICA RULES!!!!!!!
Feb 20th, 2009 at 03:32 GMT
@DerKomissar: Yes, after he was kicked out of Metallica for being a drunk. Ironic, really. If you get kicked out of Metallica for being a drunk, you're a real bad drunk.
Mar 8th, 2009 at 21:04 GMT
@sgt-d: If you wanted a REAL challenge, do this with The Cure.
Mar 11th, 2009 at 16:54 GMT
honestly i typed dave mustaine first because im a big megadeth fan. which is why there needs to be a megadeth album quiz. metallica has one and they have less albums
Mar 13th, 2009 at 02:33 GMT
i am surprised that this quiz didnt include bob rock since he recorded bass on St. Anger.
Apr 5th, 2009 at 06:24 GMT
Bob Rock was never an official member. If you're going to include him, you might as well include the "Nanananananana" lady from The Memory Remains...or the kid saying the prayer in Enter Sandman.
Apr 17th, 2009 at 04:10 GMT
@Speedoofred Maryanne Faithful. I win! :P
Apr 22nd, 2009 at 19:57 GMT
If you want a REAL challenge do this with Faith No More.
May 17th, 2009 at 20:32 GMT
7 of 8 my brother got most of them though
May 21st, 2009 at 23:28 GMT
I agree that we need a Sabbath quiz...that includes even the members who never appeared on albums.
May 25th, 2009 at 03:18 GMT
Weird that Rob Trujillo is not valid. Never heard him being called Robert.
Jun 27th, 2009 at 15:36 GMT
RIP Cliff :(
Jul 7th, 2009 at 19:29 GMT
@brian and @Speedoofred: Bob Rock is listed as a bonus answer. And perhaps rightly so. He was about as close to being in the band as possible during the Black Album recordings, and even played a few live gigs as the bassist after Newsted left.
Jul 9th, 2009 at 10:43 GMT
Ron Mcgovney was basist on the original demos mostly
Jul 9th, 2009 at 12:47 GMT
@brian: if I'm not mistaken Trujillo rerecorded the bass materail for St. Anger, Bob Rock was just a temporary sideman so they could hear how it all went together and jam out new material. What about James Marshall (maybe John Marshall)? He was Jame' guitar tech, and after the pyro accident in Montreal James came back only to sing and Marshall played rhythm guitar for all the gigs -- one of the few instances where Metallica was a five-piece band.
Aug 26th, 2009 at 15:30 GMT
I kept writing "Rob Mcgovney" instead of "ron", wtf.
Sep 18th, 2009 at 06:10 GMT
Lloyd Grant and Brad Parker as bonus answers would have been cool.
Dec 27th, 2009 at 06:15 GMT
yah no love for Lloyd Grant :(
Dec 27th, 2009 at 06:18 GMT
or John Marshall either
Jan 1st, 2010 at 06:40 GMT
I missed Ron and Jason. I only missed Jason because I wasn't sure how his last name was spelled. And I had never heard of Ron before.
Feb 12th, 2010 at 20:24 GMT
Bob Rock is a bonus? Man **** that guy, he ruined Metallica's sound; he shouldn't be a bonus. John Marshall, Lloyd Grant and Brad Parker should've been bonus answers. Maybe Joey Jordison and Dave Lombardo too because they played with Metallica when Lars was out once.
Jul 19th, 2010 at 12:17 GMT
@dirkommisar: Dave Mustaine was the guitarist for Metallica on their first album Kill 'Em All in 1983. He was an alcoholic and a drug addict so they kicked him out after Kill 'Em All and replaced him with Kirk Hammett. Dave Mustaine started Megadeth after they kicked him out of Metallica.
Dec 5th, 2010 at 05:31 GMT
@matthewmagiligan: That isn't true. Dave only wrote 6 songs for Metallica, featured on both Kill Em' All and Ride the Lightning. Otherwise, nice quiz, but 4 is too much time. Kept spelling Ron as Rob.
Jan 13th, 2011 at 15:38 GMT
Grant Lloyd was the original lead guitarist in 1981, was then replaced by Mustaine in 1982.
Apr 18th, 2011 at 12:52 GMT
"Robert Trujillo" is spelt wrong.
