Nice quiz, but what about Garage, Inc.? And the album with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra? Can't remember the name, but it's the album that gave us No Leaf Clover.

The name of the album with the orchestra was S&M for Symphony & Metallica.

I think this is just for studio albums.Garage Inc was a compilation of b-sides and a re-issue of garage days, and S&M was a live album.

it wasn't the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. It was the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. But I agree that both S&M and Garage, Inc. should be on. The quizzes for other bands have had compilations and live albums. And both of those albums had new material on them.

After AJfA, Metallica was never the same. I haven't liked any song from any album since.

I guess they are now. I got both of them before I read the comments, so the admin has added Garage Inc. and S&M. Dunno why "$5.98 Garage Days Revisited" wasn't included as a bonus though.

I got 3, including the bonus Garage, Inc. I knew 2 more but didn't remember the names. I like Metallica, but I just listen to songs I like, not the albums. I wanna see a Pink Floyd album quiz.

I only missed the new album but did get Garage Inc. Agree with Justin but I do like some songs on the Black Album and then nothing after that.

so sad how far they've fallen. i liked some of the stuff on load, but the last 2 albums have been really disappointing for me. the black album was their best 'commercial' album, but MOP was by far their best work.

and to the douchebags who didn't like Justin's comment he was dead on they weren't the same if you're a fan of the old stuff or not it's obvious they went commercial I wouldn't go as far as to say I haven't like any song since nor do I believe him

@Link -- That'd be a 3 question quiz. Little on the easy side? Unless you counted the live albums and compilations.

Technically Nirvana would be a four question quiz. Bleach, Nevermind, Incesticide, In Utero. Also as bonus there's Unplugged in New York, From the muddy banks of the Wishkah, Nirvana, and one other I can't recall the name of.

How did I forget Ride The Lightning? I knew that it was named after a song on the cd and also that Fade to Black (one of my favorites) was on it. Metallica has some of the the best riffs and transitions I have ever heard.

Derrick - I second that last sentence! And to Kaioshin - three albums - Incesticide was a compilation album, not a studio album. How about a dream theater studio album quiz or are they not popular enough to warrant one?

Correction, Derrick, Dave Mustaine has some of the best riffs and transitions ever. I REALLY do not want to start a Megadeth/Metallica flame war, but I gotta say, Dave Mustaine wrote their best stuff, everything before MoP.

@ Haduken - They are now... But from 83-91 they were either touring or in the studio... A formula that seemed to work.. Because since then, there music has just been terrible... Actually since 90 i think... But trashing the black album is sacrilege.

How about a Frank Zappa album quiz (something like 59 studio albums)? Also, I agree that S&M and Garage, Inc. should be included on this list, but only because we wait 6 years for every new Metallica album, so even cover tunes and live stuff counts as new material to all of us desperate for something, anything, from Metallica.

Dave Mustaine is an arrogant ***hole. Talented, but arrogant nonetheless. As for Metallica, I hate when so-called "real fans" stop listening to music once they hit "mainstream." St. Anger was not a good album, but Death Magnetic was a great one. Just because the band has reached international fame and changed their sound a bit doesn't make them not worth listening to. Open your mind.

I admit they aren't as balls-to-the-wall as they were in the 80s, but Death Magnetic is a damn fine album.
