For the love of god, take Sretan Bozic off the Slovakian one before my mom sees this and goes off on another tirade against Yugoslavians. Vesele vianoce is Slovak, Sretan Bozic is probably Slovenian.

The 2nd Dutch word is "Kerstfeest", not "Kerstfeast". ;) But hey, happy holidays to everyone here!

Hebrew Should accept also: Moadim lesimcha (without the ' and with ch instead of kh), and also: Chag Molad Sameach (Happy Christmas), Chag Chanuka Sameach (Happy Hannuka), and in Hebrew letters: מועדים לשמחה, חג מולד שמח, חג חנוכה שמח.

The Dutch version should be "Zalig kerstfeest", but even better is "gelukkig kerstfeest" or "vrolijk kerstfeest"

Not a criticism at all, as I'm sure the version here is correct-er, but I was taught German was 'Froehe Weihnachten' (oe should be o+umlaut, but I can't be bothered to type that out correct)

I love this quiz! Just want to point out though, that the Irish one: Nollaig shona dhuit- means happt christmas to you- not merely happy christmas. Just to let you know- cos I'm an irish speaker, and i wa caught out- embarrassingly! But I was DELIGHTED you included Irish! Go riabh míle maith agat!

Yeah I would expect Fröhe Weihnachten to be equally acceptable for the German answer (and Bray, it's alt+148, the typing of which would have taken you 70 fewer keystrokes than what you did say.)

Why in the world do more people know "Merry Christmas" in Hawaiian than in German??

Everything has just been thrown into a translation machine. No one in French ever says joyeux, Weihnachten is plural and only old people say zalig kerstfeest

Melissa: Why wouldn't they? "Mele Kalikimaka" is a pretty well-known Christmas song.

@Jovvit: Joyeux Noël is correct - We DO say Joyeux in French. For example either to say Merry Christmas or Happy Birthday: Joyeux Noël, Joyeux anniversaire...

Wouldn't this work better in reverse? You give us the phrase "Merry Christmas" and we have to identify the language?

Good quiz. I only knew five. I, too, have a Christmas game. I know I'm not supposed to advertise in comments, but how else do I get the word to the sporcle community being that my online friends don't play sporcle? Please, come play, comment, rate, nominate if you think it is good. http://www.sporcle.com/games/kagomeshuko/christmascarolinitials Thanks so much!

Yeah come on, why don't you accept "Felice natale" for Italian. I know my family says that, and I'm fluent in Italian myself. And your spelling is too picky, I knew the German but was one letter off. Too obscure.
