| @clevername: Actually, it seems that the first few of these quizzes omitted "State of": "Can you name the most populated cities in ___" for California, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Texas. In later quizzes, "State of" was added: Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Washington. I suspect that the change came when Georgia, New York, or Washington was encountered because in those three cases, there could be some ambiguity (the state of Georgia with the country of Georgia, New York state with New York city, Washington state with Washington, D.C.). Note that Pennsylvania, the only other "commonwealth" state to have a quiz, was done before the "State of" was tacked on. |
