I don't know which name's less original, Green Park or Bushy Park. Kensington Gardens makes up for it, though.

@ dj j deezy: First, freedom of speech only applies to the US government. They can't limit your speech. We (and Sporcle) can. Second, if you love America so much, why did you write your song to the tune of a German composer?

I was wondering when my position in the Metropolitan Police Service was going to be useful in a sporcle quiz.

Here's hoping that Sporcle graces us with 2 geography games today -a naive American, unfamiliar with London's royal parks

4/8, although I knew Greenwich and got Green as a freebie. Ah, London. Great city with great parks.

@truoger: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Parks_of_London. According to wiki, there's a ninth green space managed by the Royal Parks, Brompton Cemetary.

Brings back lovely memories of when I lived briefly in London. What gorgeous parks. Hampstead Heath doesn't count as a park, though I recall a pond and ducks...

@Robbie: You want to know something. You're sitting in front of an open web browser. In the time it took you to type your question here, you could have asked Google Maps, which would have given you an instant response. Instead, you asked here, asking somebody else to do the work for you, and you've not had a response in over twelve hours. Why ask somebody else to do the work for you when you can do it yourself? When doing it yourself works better? When doing it yourself doesn't advertise your ignorance across the web for eternity?

Shame nobody at Sporcle acted on my request for dj's account to be removed. I've never had a comment with so many positive votes:
http://www.sporcle.com/games/worldcupsquad_england1990.php
And yet he's still here trolling around. This is a great site, but please remove accounts like dj's for everyone else's sake.

david- I don't get the "just google it" attitude. I like asking PEOPLE my questions. I like hearing what PEOPLE have to say about the questions I ask. Yeah, I could google it, but I for one just happen to LIKE taking a different approach. I frequently google things, but I also ask questions. The "just google it" answer annoys me no end. So, conversely- in the time you spent writing out your "just google it" response, you could have told Robbie the answer to his question.

@Sparky: It's fine wanting to hear what people have to say about a question when there are possibilities for differences of opinion. If I wanted to know which was the best Royal Park to have a picnic in, a discussion with other people would be very helpful. But, given that you're sitting in front of a web browser what difference could it possibly make to you whether I tell you that Bushy Park is in Richmond or Google does? This is just a question of basic fact — there's no scope for the interpretation or opinion that a human being could spend their time contributing.

Davidr; No, Bushy Park is not in Richmond (properly, Richmond-upon-Thames, to distinguish it from others of the same name, eg in Yorkshire); it's in the Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames. It's actually quite a way from Richmond to Bushy park. Kingston-upon-Thames, Teddington, Hampton and more are closer towns. And that's what is wrong when the ignorant use google and why Sparky is so right.

King John's Royal Gardens Gave Him Red Balls.
You have to remember that J is for (St) James's... but if it was King James it would be lewd rather than poetic (see King John's Christmas by A A Milne :) )
