got 18/20. never heard of Paul DiAnno. Derek and the Dominos should be another acceptable answer for Clapton.

Another idea for a quiz is for bands who lose a member or two and are still composed of mainly the same core and take on another name e.g. Rage Against the Machine - Audioslave

The band name is "Eagles," not "The Eagles." "The Eagles" were a 1960s band that did not have Don Henley.

Dave Navarro has a large number of former bands, if I recall, most notably Red Hot Chile Peppers.

Can we stop with all the "Why did you not include XXXXX?" comments, please? It is not possible to include everything. Something will always be left out. Deal with it.

I think Staley, Plant, Waters, and Garcia don't fit. It's not like you think of Plant and Waters as being more famous for their solo careers. And it's not like you think of Layne Staley and say "yeah...he was in Mad Season...who was he with before that?" Still a good idea, though.

I think that people who died shouldn't be on this list. Jerry Garcia never left the Dead, Michael Hutchence never left INXS. Their deaths were the reasons they were no longer in the bands. These were never "former" bands of these musicians. These were former musicians of these bands.

Considering that Led Zeppelin and the Police have played concerts within the last year, it's hard to call them "former bands" of those musicians. (OK for Zep I think it was just over a year ago, but there's talk of more shows with Jason Bonham.)

Good to see Paul Di Anno up there. He was lead vocalist with Iron Maiden on their first two albums "Iron Maiden" & "Killers" . He left the band due to his voice not being able to withstand the constant touring. He was replace by Bruce Dickinson.

Traffic should be acceptable for Eric Clapton as well. This quiz was pretty subjective.

@Jeremy: I don't recal Clapton ever being in Traffic, Winwood left Traffic and joined Clapton in Blind Faith.

Can we stop with the posts that bitch about the "Why did you not include XXXXX?" comments, please? Half the fun of this site (for me)is further discussion and seeing what other people would have put if they made the quiz.

Henry Rollins was also in DC hardcore band SOA or State of Alert before Black Flag. It's what got him the gig.

Agree with bringer of spice, it should be Sammy Hagar up there instead of DLR.

a couple things...Don Henley is still a memeber of the Eagles...DLR is a member of VH as of now too...Ozzy is also still a member of Sabbath. the project with Dio is Heaven and Hell and not Sabbath, Sabbath is still considered a band...also The Police just finished a massive tour with the Police, how does that constitute him as a former memeber...and when did Robert Plant stop being a member of Zeppelin. Zeppelin stopped, not Robert Plant...John Bonham would have made more sense there.

@andy: I respectfully disagree with you. Many of these quizzes could have additional answers. While I enjoy discussions that come from these quizzes, posting just to add to the list is annoying. I also makes it hard to write sequels to these quizzes when everyone has just read the most prominent possible answers.

Great quiz. But I am just adding that Dennis Deyoung has his stage light allergy which broke up Styx.

For the record, Stapp left Creed, they became Alter Bridge, and the rest of the band members proved they can play intruments. Look up the song Metalingus. Or One Day Remains... they've made two good albums so far.

Great quiz. A bit dispointed over the lack of a few bands, such as No Doubt. But still, very fun and interesting.

Piece of cake, despite I think that RHCP might be also fit for Navarro, since he played with them (One Hot Minute)

You could also allow John Mayall's Blues Breakers and the Yardbirds for Clapton.
