| I realize that Russian transliterations are difficult, because there are several different transliteration systems that are used concurrently and yield different results. But I speak Russian fluently and couldn't get "please" in Russian (пожалуйста) because I couldn't figure out how the heck Sporcle had transliterated it! (For the record, I would transliterate it as "pozhaluista" or "pozhalujsta". "Y" is usually a substitute for ы, not й, except for the end of certain last names like Tolstoy (Толстой), Trotsky (Тротский), and Dostoevsky (Достоевский). |
