Golem - aside from my own high school's mascot (hawks), I guessed lions, tigers, and bears next!

I miss the clever nicknames. Growing up in Indiana, I was amused by both the Frankfort Hot Dogs and the Delphi Oracles.

Hm. Why are 'blue devils' and 'red devils' separate? I would have thought they'd be just 'devils'...

I think he's thinking of doing like Question: Bayside HS (Saved by the Bell Answer: Tigers Might need to include fictional college mascots in that as well.

@mummy Looking at the source material, they are listed separately, because they are separate. The numbers above do not include schools that use modifiers like "Golden Eagles" or "Screaming Eagles". There are actually 167 Blue Devils and actually 110 Red Devils in the country. Hence the separate line items.

@vogz: not really. what about the south park cows. and you wouldn't just randomly guess, you'd think about the show/movie/book

For the longest time, I thought the top 2 answers would've been the other way around. I'm surprised my alma mater's mascot (Braves) ranked so low compared to some of the other answers though. I also second the idea on a fictional mascot quiz...

My high school is on this list (Hawks) but I was fascinated by the source website. There are actually high schools with teams called the Urchins, Victorians, and Vulcans! Fun Quiz! I think fictional high school/college nicknames would be fun, too.

I really like this quiz. Lots of fun, and very interesting to see what was (Crusaders, Dragons) and was not (Bulls, Broncos) there. Alas, I missed Braves, despite the Atlanta Braves being my favorite sports team... but you can't win 'em all.

I work with tons of high schools, so no surprise I only missed a few. My school was the Vandals, very unpopular, although Vikings did make the list. My favorites are the Nimrods and Arctic Knights. My experience has been the most common are tigers and bulldogs, followed by all the other wild cat variations.
