	@Nuclear_Knuckles - he did not say that Griffey did not use steroids; he only said he's going to be remembered as the best in this era not linked to steroids. No one can know for sure if someone is clean, but it is a fact that Griffey has never (yet) been seriously linked to steroids.

	@Athletic - it's not a level playing field in a historical context. It puts all of their career achievements (in comparison with players of other eras) in doubt and disrepute. Not to mention the silliness of the idea that they were ALL doing it...

	Swellwrench, if you understand anything about baseball history, there are no level playing fields. The ball, the parks, the bats, the mounds, the weather, the strategies -- none of these have ever remained constant, and they all have affected the stats, sometimes to a tremendous degree.

"technically a legal playing field at the time" which is a bullsh*t argument because steroids have been a Schedule III drug (read: illegal) under the Controlled Substance Act since 1990.

	swellwrench: was it a level playing field when Cy Young won 511 games, or when Bob Gibson posted a 1.12 ERA in 1968? There's no such thing as a "level playing field" from a historical perspective. Every era should be judged on its own merit.

	If Griffey had gotten on the juice, then his HR numbers would be really astronomical. He has spent alot of time on the DL since he left Cincy, or he wouldve cracked the HR record before Bonds.
