Huge NBA fan here and only got 21 of 30. Never heard of Ndudi Ebi. Methinks I'd remember a name like that. Lotta staying power for high schoolers. All the ones from the 90's (except Bender) still playing. With the exception of the aforementioned Ebi and Darius Miles, I think all the 2000's are still playing as well ("playing as well" not to be confused with "playing well" or else I'd leave out Kwame Brown too)

Bill Willoughby? And Kemp didn't really go straight from prep to pro...he actually enrolled at Kentucky but was kicked off the team before playing in a game. If Leon Smith is excluded, I think Kemp should be as well.

You're a huge NBA fan and you haven't heard of Ndudi Ebi? C'mon... And the list has Kobe drafted by the Raptors. Should fix that, as it's the Hornets.

Why limit it to 1st rounders? You left off Stephen Jackson, Rashard Lewis, Monta Ellis, and a bunch of others who are big name players in the NBA.

I don't follow b-ball so I did horribly. But, there was a Bender at a high school I used to teach at, from 98-2001, who always said he was going pro straight from high school. So, I had to look up Jonathan to be sure. Not the same guy, and I'm not surprised.

I agree that Moses should be there... maybe asterisked, but he did go straight to the PROS out of HS. Anyway, another great idea for a quiz. Well done, Ben.

ebi was a big time high schooler that skipped a chance to play for lute olsen at arizona to get drafted. he had a lot of upside, but is more of a cautionary tale. he fizzled out fairly quickly. i always thought he would for some reason. and the reason its only first rounders is because the quiz would be giant if it included 2nd rounders. and less than 5% of people would get those 2nd rounders. i consider myself a nba draft junkie, but even id have trouble getting 100%. for every rashard lewis, theres a james lang. for every monta ellis, theres a ricky sanchez. for every stephen jackson, theres a ousmane cisse. so be careful what you wish for.

While there's some busts on this list, the success rate of these guys in the league is surprisingly high.

How about a Whole Career with Same Team quiz (10 years minimum) for guys like Duncan, Stockton, David Robinson etc. And on the flip side a "Played For Over 5 Teams". Could even do that one on All-Stars only (like Billups for example)

You see the guys that are success stories on here, but there are way more guys who entered the draft and then didn't even get drafted out of HS. Korleone Young. Look him up. Just one huge example of unbelievable potential gone to waste due to bad advice. Too bad.

Heh, the drafting team really throws you off if you're trying to figure out who jumped straight in. I generally don't associate Diop with the Cavs, or Perkins with the Grizzlies. Good quiz though. Much enjoyed.

Selby, I think the Bender you are referring to is Brandon from Louisville's Ballard High School. I remember him talking about declaring as a Sophomore in high school.

Samsonite, I was wondering about Willoughby too. Turns out he was a 2nd round pick (though 19th overall -- smaller league).

DAMN!! 8 first round pick in the 204 draft came from high school and you can say that 2 maybe 3 or 4 are really good are they are Dwight Howard, Al Jefferson and Josh Smith. j.R. Smith is good but not but not as good as the other 3

Shawn Kemp went to a junior college but didn't play basketball there so I don't think he should be on here.
