Thanks, Sporcle, for allowing me to prove to myself that I have officially blocked "Armageddon" out of my mind.

I got a lot of correct answers from guessing movies that another actor on this list was in.

I didn't realize the Pitt-Jolie movie did more box office than Oceans 12 & 13. Fun quiz.

@voljtw: Raising Arizona didn't make much money at the box office, as movies with that level of wit and originality tend to fare poorly in theaters. Which is why Nicolas Cage decided to make movies like, well, the ones on this quiz.

Yeah I know...its a cult classic...in a just and right world however, it would be her highest grossing film...plus this quiz tends to favor more modern movies since ticket prices are so much higher now.

Surprised Tropic Thunder didn't make the list for Cruise. Thought it did pretty well. Maybe cause he didn't have much a part? Or does anyone have a source for this?

According to www.the-numbers.com, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou, should be on the list for Holly Hunter, not Always. It (barely) outgrossed it both internationally and domestically. http://www.the-numbers.com/people/HHNTR.php

Nick Cage has some pretty bad movies. He and Kevin Costner should be the inaugural members of the crap movie hall of fame.

Could we have a quiz for which movie sold most tickets? Grosses are going to be increasing as the ticket prices go up, giving the many doggy dirtbag movies a patina they do not deserve.

@steeltown Internet piracy and Blu-Ray/DVD rentals and sales take away from ticket sales now more than ever. How would you account for that?

Hey, you know what? Sometimes I like Nick Cage movies. And sometimes I enjoy Armageddon. And I think I'm comfortable with that. So there, take that.

A correction: Morgan Freeman was in War of the Worlds (Narrator), which grossed much more than either Bruce Almighty or Robin Hood.

The fourth Die Hard film was realised as Die Hard 4.0 outside North America. I wondered why I'd never heard of the answer here.

Calling Mark Wahlberg an actor is pushing it. A self indulgent, arrogant p***k is more apt.

@cedwards90... Good to know I'm not the only one who tried that. And I think the reason that Mr. & Mrs. Smith made some much money is from all the drama of his "affair" with Jolie at the time. Which was good thinking on their part because withouth the hype... The movie stunk.

Jeremy, I had to look it up and they are right. Batman Begins $371,853,783. Robin Hood: Prince of Crap $390,500,000.

@devonportney I couldn't agree more. Same as Bruce Almighty and Dark Knight are hardly "Morgan Freeman" movies. He has a marginal role, but not even close to being the star of either.

I was surprised O Brother, Where Art Thou? was not one of Hunter's top 3. I am trying to figure out if I am surprised or not that many of these movies are total c*@p, even from the "I just want a distraction" perspective

I suppose superb professional actors like Hunter and Lee justify "acting" in the big payoff movies knowing that these let them afford to do the ones that really challenge their ability. Or not.

What's wrong with Holly Hunter Camden? She's a talented actress. Besides, what do you want, just the biggest names and people that *you* know? Just what kind of quiz would that be? This quiz has diversity, actors from all levels known for films of many genres and catering to different crowds. That's what a quiz should be, I'm sorry this meant you might miss one of them.

Because Shawshank Redemption did bad at the box office. I don't know anyone who saw it in the theater. Became a big hit on video and television broadcasts.
