Nice quiz. Heck of a game last night, even if the BCS is total nonsense.

13/16. Should have gotten Auburn and Wisconsin. Never would have guessed Yale. I forgot that they used to be a football powerhouse back in the day.

Even after I realized it's in alphabetical order once teams have the same number, I still didn't get wisconsin and yale. Great game last night, GO GATORS!!

Got 12/16 by strictly guessing. Should have gotten Wisconsin, the other three (Army, Navy, Yale) I'm not surprised I missed.

Not accepting 'Ohio' or 'Florida' without 'State' on the end? A little harsh. Anyway, after typing in the few American colleges I knew - Appalachia, Princeton, UCLA, Harvard, Yale - I played the alternative game of 'name American states' and got 7/16.

@Joe Ball: There are other colleges named Ohio and Florida that are different from Ohio State and Florida State. In fact, Florida and Florida State are both quiz answers. So, they should not be accepted without "State" on the end.

There is a big difference between Ohio and Ohio State - those are two totally different schools. The actual school names are University of Ohio and Ohio State University

@wolverine: It's actually THE Ohio State University, as its students are so happy to point out. And I missed Auburn (forgot about Pat Sullivan) and Navy. Never would've gotten Navy. I still don't know who their other winner was besides Staubach.

Had problems until I started going conference by conference, guessing schools most likely to have them. I'm surprised Penn State isn't on the list. Ended off with the military schools and plugging in the major Ivy League schools. Still got all 16 with just over a minute to spare.

Just to be clear, it's Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Don't know why there wasn't consistency with the use of "state" in the various institutions.

how come in the most wins, Southern CA counted, but here you had to type Southern California?... I think with the exception of Navy and Yale, this seems like a Most Wins Jr. quiz. Still, good quiz

@Rob-the Heisman award is traditionally the MVP for college football, and it was usually given to the best player on the best team, so the USCs and the OSUs will get their share, as will Notre Dame. Since 1970, there have been only 2 players to win the award from outside what we consider today the 'power conferences', done in back to back years by Ware and Detmer.

@Ernest-the other winner from Navy was Bellino in 1960, 3 years before Staubach won his. I am an avid college football fan.

i was going through all the big ten schools and I though "theres no way its Wisconson or Minnesota" so I just skipped them. I guess that teaches me to try them all no matter how strange.

Bryon White was Colorado's first All-American, and later became a Supreme Court Justice, but no Heisman, he finished second in voting.
