Here I thought this would be the easiest quiz of all time, and I couldn't get his first team. I am very disappointed in myself.

As a huge Gretzky fan, I had no trouble with this quiz. I've seen the DVD Ultimate Gretzky about 50 times. Truly he was "The Great One."

Surprised I got them all. Funny that the half season with the Blues produced one of the most famous goals of all time, when he turned the puck over and Yzerman beat Jon Casey top shelf in OT.

I kinda thought the Coyotes would be a bonus, but still a good quiz.

A think a better idea for a quiz would be Rickey Henderson teams, at least that'll be more than 5 lol.

Don't feel bad about not getting the Indianapolis one. It wasn't an NHL team.

@Luke: If you read the description, it says WHA and NHL. The Indianapolis Racers were in the World Hockey Association, aka WHA, from 1974-1978.

Curious on the negative points? I point something out about the title and it's bad?

I love any commemoration of the brief but occasionally glorious run of Gretzky with the St. Louis Blues. Even though many don't remember it, it's the trade that I credit with getting me interested in sports.

I know it's in the quiz. I'm not complaining about the quiz. I'm just saying it's not shameful to not know the name of a team from a defunct league. I.E. if I forgot that Babe Ruth played for the Red Sox, it would be more embarrassing because the Red Sox are a team in MLB.

Wow, those Sporcle demigods always know how to surprise you. I made this quiz about, oh, 1396 years ago. I'm glad they used it. I'm not much of a hockey fan, but you (and by "you", I mean "everyone") must respect the great one. Have fun, and have a great Labor Day weekend (or, for you non-Americans, just a weekend), everybody.

I don't like hockey, but, being from L.A., I knew Kings and Oilers, and from there, started guessing other NHL teams I had heard of.

The thing that always struck me about his time in St. Louis was how he and Hull never clicked. Here you have the greatest passer the game has ever seen and one of the greatest shooters in the game on the same team, and they couldn't work well together for some odd reason.

Gretzky is not the greatest player ever. Mario is!! Gretzky had all kinds of talent with him in his entire career so of course he is going to look good. Mario Mario Mario Mario Mario!!!

pensfan - the reason Gretzky had talented players around him was he helped them become talented where as Mario made them look great while playing with him. That's what makes Gretzky the greatest of all time and Mario the best ever.

Bragging time. I am one of the few people in the world to be able to say I was a spectator to watch Wayne play for 6 pro teams he played for (WHA Oilers were his sixth, technically speaking ;)).

Lemieux had no talented teammates? I guess we're not counting Jaromir Jagr, the only player besides Gretzky and Lemieux to win the Art Ross trophy between 1981 and 2001.

Including the Racers is just plain evil. Also saying Kuri and Messier weren't talented without Gretzky making them talented is moronic.
