the quiz was cool, but the most rewarding part about it was learning about the origins of the book. i had never heard of that bet!

Fun quiz. Thanks - I had just read the book to my nephew a few days ago so some of it was still fresh in my memory. Sadly, not all of it :)

How do you go about contributing quizzes? I had the idea for this very quiz back in September 2008, but I didn't know I could contribute it to Sporcle, so I programmed it myself ( http://mentalgym.freehostia.com/greeneggstq.html ).

I love it I run weekly pub quizzes and one of my all time favorite questions is to ask what the only multisyllabic word that Dr. Seuss used in this book was.....people always get frustrated because they know they know it but they can usually not come up with the answer..

A very fun quiz idea! I did quite poorly, though, having not read the book in many years, but some things you never forget.

The fact that some of the words (namely the ones in the title) are not at 100% really surprises me.

Something amazing just happened, I didn't know what to type in so I tried my own name... and it worked! Unbelievable, I never heard of this book before...

What's the point of this quiz? Just put in the words of the book...that's not all that challenging.

@Zala Greensbury: It is challenging (for most) if one is trying to remember a book that one has not read in close to a decade, even if there are only 50 words. Seeing the 14 words I missed reminded me of entire sections of the book that slipped my mind.

Being in Seussical the Musical definitely helped. We sang this song during curtain call. I miss it.

I'm just saying what's the point...just put in the words of the book, just seems pointless and random but that's just my opinion.

Zala the point is not to grab the book and cheat but to do it by memory. Anyone can cheat by looking at other websites for most of these quizzes but that defeats the purpose of seeing how many answers that you can remember off the top of your head.

Remember, if you are going to eat green eggs and ham DO NOT touch the green cheese. I had to find that one out the hard way.

Huh? Who's cheating? What are you talking about, all I said was what's the point of putting in all the words of a book 'A' 'I' 'the' that's just flipping random as hell to me for a game.

Funny that the least remembered word appears twice in the last line of the book. I always remember reading that line to my kids a little more slowly to wind down from the headlong rush of all the ways "not-Sam" decides he will eat green eggs and ham. By the way, does that other character have a name?

At least 3% of the users on this site are a complete waste of the oxygen supply. How the hell do you miss "green," "eggs," and "ham"?!?
And just for the record I would not eat green eggs. The ham? Sure, I'll eat that. I don't even like non-green eggs!
