I think Eric Cartman should be acceptable for number 10, it is his full name. I must agree with @Bryant though, no Griffins? Clearly TV Guide have missed Family Guy in entirety!

@caedus: Doug seems to be forgotten about quite a bit. Maybe it'll be on the next one!

This list was made in 2002. Although nothing from Family Guy should be anywhere near this list even if it was made today.

Among the deserving that were left out: Optimus Prime, Shipwreck, Bender, Phillip J. Fry, Scrooge McDuck, Captain Murphy (from Sealab 2021), Hank Hill and Montgomery Burns.

@Bryant, mad_caesar this is because Family Guy is an awful show for bros and 15-year-old boys. I would have cut Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner for Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, or even Foghorn Leghorn.

This list I cannot abide. Angelica Pickles? Ahead of Pikachu and Mickey Mouse? (I didn't even guess Pikachu, but still.) And since when is the Grinch a cartoon character, he's in one animated film.

I think the reason some of your favourite classic cartoons are lower on the list than you expect is because the list was made in 2002 and those shows had/have only been playing re-runs for years. Kids these days have new cartoons.

I looked it up, it is the Bill from Schoolhouse Rock. Which is pretty awesome. I would have liked some love for Dudley-Do-Right/Tennessee Tuxedo/Mister Peabody or other characters from the shorts between Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Fascinating list. I completely brainfarted on anything Disney. But sooo many weren't originally TV cartoons! (You really should put the date of the list somewhere on the top of the page.)

I'm surprised none of the Animaniacs made it. Also, you should clarify in the instructions that the list was published in 2002.

No 'Family Guy' characters renders this list moot. Also, Gumby wasn't a cartoon.

This quiz is dated, some of the answers are no longer relevant and there are clearly more recent characters missing. Also, 7 minutes is not enough time in my opinion. Who the hell is Bill?

50 greatest cartoon characters becomes sorta pointless with so many multiple entries (Bart and Lisa, Charlie Brown and Snoopy). I can sorta understand if you're talking about obvious pairs like Tom & Jerry, but not all of the multiple entries are like that. If you're going to pick 50, PICK 50!

Mickey Mouse should be No. 1 of any cartoon character list as if it wasn;t for him there would be no cartoons as there are today. This list is poopy
