for march you should allow maerz - adding an 'e' has the same effect as an umlaut!

there is no umlaut over the i, germans only use umlauts for a, u, and o.

please make "Jänner" a possible answer for January. I am from Austria and a in Austria and in parts of Switzerland and South Germany you say Jänner instead of January. also see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austrian_German

I'm surprised I did well, considering I barely know any Deutsch. But all of the months are similar to the English words.

Accept Maerz for March, not Marz. Marz is incorrect. Whenever you have an umlaut in a word, it is always correct to replace it by putting an "e" after the letter it's over. Simply writing the letter without the umlaut is incorrect and can sometimes change the meaning of the word entirely.

@ 31195 You are totally right. For example: "drücken" means "to push" and "drucken" means "to print" "Apfel" means "apple" and "Äpfel" means "apples"

I know that December in German is spelled with an i although I could be wrong. And yay, I got nine out of 12 right. Thanks goodness for remembering a picture book about Germany that have German terms throughout the book plus being American of German decent :)

"Dezember" is correctly rendered in the quiz, no "i" in it. And the sign would be "Bitte wirf keine Kippen in die Toilette, wir pinkeln auch nicht in Deinen Aschenbecher." (please do not throw your cigarette butts into the toilet, after all we do not pee into your ashtray.)
